Birthday:

Likes:
I like making new doggie friends, especially other shorties like me! We stick together so the big dogs don't trample us. I'm also obsessed with laying half on/half off of people and sitting like a kitty cat on top of the arm of the couch.

Pet-Peeves:
When mommy makes me wait to play until I potty, and getting in trouble for biting too hard. I get put on my back, booo!

Favorite Toy:
My two "girlfriends," a teddy bear and a stuffed dog who is just the right size, if you know what I mean! Mommy has to take them away from me sometimes, what can I say?

Favorite Food:
I love my Kong Stuffin'! Sometimes I think mommy is tricking me into going into my cage with it, but she would never do that to me.

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere there is GRASS! I like to sniff the homeless guys down by the river, too. Sometimes I jog with mommy but I pretend like I'm tired and lay down in the grass.

Best Tricks:
Oh my goodness I'm such a show-off. I can sit up on my hind legs, roll over, high-five, stay, back up, etc. etc. etc.!! Mommy is working on a trick that I absolutely hate. She tries to make me balance a treat on my nose. I won't be subjected to that!

Arrival Story:
My mommy was never a dachshund person until she came across someone giving away a red female. She thought "hey, doxies are really cool," because they are. The people decided to keep that doxie, but Mommy's hunt was on. She combed the newspaper for weeks until she found the ad she was looking for. She drove out to Eureka, KS about an hour away and met me, my mom and siblings. She had to choose between me and my brother. I was the one who ran to my mommy and immediately rolled over on my back, wanting a tummy rub, love those tummy rubs (I still does this to every stranger I meet). On the car ride home I was very scared and crawled up and nestled myself in between the back of my new mommy's neck and the car seat. I still try to do that sometimes in the car but I'm much better at riding around now.

Bio:
My real mom is short-hair and my dad is long-hair. I'm a black and tan dapple, which makes me very unique! My best doggie buddy is another doxie named "Cowboy" at doggie day care. We play all day, take naps together and look out for each other. My human family besides mommy is my Nana and PooPah (I like to pee on their carpet) and my step-daddy who is very tollerant of me even though I have the strongest urge to lick him, lick him, lick him!!!

A Dog's Life by Bentley

Did he just call me fat?

Mommy took me to the vet for my yearly checkup, and the EVIL doc took my blood! It hurt SOOOOO bad and I yelped and cried like a baby. But mommy was there with a treat when it was all over. Then, the EVIL doc told mommy that I weighed in at 17.8 pounds, and I needed to loose a few!

Did he just call me fat?

Against my will, mommy has put me on a diet. No snacks, no treatsies, and I must exercise every night. BOOOO! I don't wanna! But mommy says she will go on a diet with me and do the same, so at least we'll be in it together! I just wish she would stop calling me "Chunky Monkey" and "Hey, Fatty." I'm sensitive, and I'd like to stay that way...

New House and New Yard

Well Mommy was right, we moved! I have a new house and a new yard. There used to be another doggie in my back yard, and PeeeUUU I can still smell him! I am doing a REALLY good job of pottying in the yard, but not so good a pooping in it. I will keep trying my best!

I got really scared the other day because the neighbor's cat came up on the deck and was staring at me. Mommy had to rescue me - I gave her lots of hugs for that.

OH! And I have a new buddie named Bogie, he is a Yorkie who lives on the next street. Mommy takes me down there to play with him. He's just a puppy and I let him know by acting snotty to him. Mommy started calling me "Snotty McBentley" because of it! Mommy is so funny.

Moving soon

Mommy is telling me that we are moving soon, from our apartment to a real house! With a real backyard! And I can play outside anytime I want to. I'm very excited, but this also means I will have to learn to potty outside instead of in mylitter box. I CAN DO IT!!!
