Cujo
End of the RoadJuly 8th 2010 1:40 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Well, CujoBabyPuppyBoy is no longer with us. He was old, but that was OK. He was blind and deaf, and that was OK too. But lately, he wouldn't let us clean his crusty eyes or yeasty ears. He fussed and bit us. He was sleeping mostly. Broken up by periods of barking. We used to be able to figure out what he needed, water, food, outside, sit beside you. But then he just seemed to not know what he wanted either. He seemed lost inside. Sometimes he just stood and stared. Was getting lost in rooms and places he'd used to be able to navigate. Until, it just seemed that when he wasn't asleep he was in some psychological distress that even petting him or sitting with him could ease. On July 5th Cujo got to go for his last car ride, the only thing he seemed to show any pleasure with, to the vet. He went easy, quickly. He was my mom's divorce dog. He was such a stinker as a puppy that she couldn't help but keep her focus on him and not her new life as a divorced woman. Over 16 years he developed so many names. CujoBabyPuppyBoy and Bubba. He loved to be stinky and adored teenage girls. They seemed to think he was adorable too. So we like to think that he is in a place where he is as stinky as can be with an endless round of cute teenage girls doting on him. Love you, Bub.
My brotherApril 12th 2007 4:59 pm[ Leave A Comment ] He has been here for 3 months now. When he came I spent about 2 weeks under the bed mainly. I mean, I was the only boy until he came along and he is a LOT bigger than me. Eventually I came out and let him know that just because he was the size of a bear I was top dog around here. It's easy enough to do. It's all in how you carry yourself. I can walk up to his food bowl and start eating and he won't say a thing and gets out of the way. After I did that a few times he got the idea and now I just go on my business as usual. He doesn't get in my way and I don't get in his.
I pace myself.September 25th 2006 1:55 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
I'm an old guy, but you'd never guess it. My secret? Pace yourself. I don't run in circles at top speed for no reason. I trot, just trot right off. It is the best way to sneak away, doesn't draw attention. If you pace yourself you can walk all day without stopping. I can still jump very high & get around tight spots but I sometimes find it easier to look pitiful so some one will pick me up and carry me.
