Arrival Story: Maggie May was rescued by my moms friend who runs her own private dog rescue. Her old owner dropped her off because she couldn't be a breeding dog anymore. See she was bred before she was even one year old. She then had complications with the litter and they had to give her a c-section and had her spayed. Since she was no longer a profit maker she was given up. And so I adopted her and brought her home. That was nearly four years ago!
Bio: Maggie May is my heart dog through and through. She is very sweet and soft hearted. Even a raised voice can send her tucking her tail and heading for her crate. She had a very serious fear of young children when I first got her. And only recently have we finally worked through that phobia. She still has an extreme fear of tall men. If they are short she is all good with them. But tall bulky men cause her to shake with fear and hide behind my legs. She is the queen here at home though and rules the roost. Even big puppy Sawyer knows not to "mess" with her lol. She is over all the best dog I have ever had.

The Last Forum I Posted In: Just when I thought I had it right..Help please
As I said in my last entry that my mom lady has had me on a diet I HATE for a year now. Well yesterday I got my revenge.
While my mom lady was eating her dinner last night I sat across the room planning my mission. It was then that the phone rang in the other room. My mom lady thought she was clever and left her plate with sausage and fries on a high table. Though to me out of my reach.
Silly her!
While she was gone I climbed up on the stool near the table and jumped up on to the table. I then quickly inhaled all that wonderful and tasty human food. But I got sloppy and my mom lady caught me licking her plate clean.
Oh boy was she ever mad! She yelled at me and told me to go to time out. Which is my little red crate. I stayed in there for 15 minutes on my own. I knew I was bad but the food was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.
Maybe this will teach her not to leave her food out where I can barely reach. Because I will find a way to get it!
This time last year my mom lady was feeling pretty guilty. You see over the holidays I gained alot of weight. And my mom knows this is bad but I was getting alot of people food left overs. Not to mention all the treats the kids would feed me when they would come over. Oh and how Grandma used to sneak me people cookies when she thought mom wasent looking! Oh boy was that ever great.
But come spring my mom noticed that after I got shaved down for spring I looked like a fat little sausage. She felt terrible because she knows how Cocker Spaniels can get over weight. And she never wanted to be one of those people with a fat unhealthy dog. But she wasent 100% I looked that bad until even the vet said I got fat over the winter. Not that I gained weight. Nope she said I was FAT. And so that convinced mom that a change needed to be made. And boy do those changes ever bite!
She cut down my amont of kibble in my bowl daily. Giving me enough to fill my tummy but no more. BUMMER! She also totally cut out all human food treats. And she lectured all that visited about not feeding me from their plate. BUMMER!. But she did buy me a better higher quality food with a Salmon base that is tasty and makes my coat shiny. PLUS. And she increased my exercise routine. Which means I got to see more of my dog pals. PLUS.
Now last night my mom shaved me down for spring and got her first good look me. And she was very pleased to see that I have a nice waist and look like a healthy trim new girl! And I have to tell you I feel ALOT better too. Its nice to have my figure back!
