Arrival Story:
Riddick is my dream puppy. I began looking at breeders in Jan 06 hoping to find someone I felt was a good breeder. I finally found a breeder I felt comfortable with in MO- Siberheaven. I placed a deposit on a litter in March, expecting to get my puppy in late July. In May the breeder emailed me to tell me that the breeding did not work, but I could switch my deposit. Nature took its own sweet time and I soon found out that Allegra was going to have puppies in August. On August 10 I got home from work to find an email that said the puppies had been born and it was my turn to pick a puppy (I had first pick). I scanned the pictures and immediately loved a little gray and white puppy, but he was a male and I wanted a female. I scan the litter again, and there was only one black and white female. I really wanted a gray and white puppy, so I picked Riddick. I love him to death and I couldn't have picked a better puppy if I tried!
Bio:
Riddick was born Aug 10 in Gower, MO. He has 4 brothers and 1 sister and the most beautiful parents I have ever seen. He was shipped to me at 8 weeks old. He is starting his second round of advanced training now- heel and stay are getting much better. He will be one soon and I can't imagine my life without him!

So I went to vet today to get my yearly check up and all my shots. I was not thrilled with all the needles, poking me, prodding me, and over all just annoying me. Dad took me home and I started rubbing my nose against his leg, against the couch, and rubbing it with my paws. My nose started swelling and it got to be the size of a Great Dane! Dad took me back to the vet and they said that I had an allergic reaction to one of the shots. They gave me some steroid shots, an IV, and some medicine to make the swelling go down. Dad's not thrilled with the long strip of fur they shaved to put in the IV, he keeps saying "did they have to shave that much fur?" I'm back home now- thank goodness. Oh yeah, my birthday is next Friday and mom is planning me a small party- I can't wait! I'm gonna go take a nap- it's been a long day. Later!

Today was an interesting day. When mom got home we went to the park with her church group for a picnic. My friend Gracie was there too. We played around and loved on everyone there. Then our moms had the bright idea of seeing if we could swim. I eased into the water and got about knee deep. Gracie wasn't having any part of the swimming lesson. Then our moms switched leashes and I went in a little deeper and started chasing sticks. Gracie slowly eased in the water and finally got about belly deep. When it was time to go Gracie's mom said we could go to the Doggie Car Wash to wash up. (It is a car wash that has a dog station with tub and dryer at the end) But the dog station was broken, but we were so muddy and stinky that we had to be rinsed off. So our moms held us and rinsed us off with the car wash hose. I was not thrilled with this kind of bath, and neither was Gracie. And then to top it off- my mom gave me a real bath when we got home. I kinda liked the 'outdoor/river' smell myself, but I guess she prefers oatmeal. Oh well, I'm off to chill on the porch while I dry. Later!

Well I finally graduated intermediate school! I heeled great with my friend Juls and even came to Mommy and Daddy when they called me. My stay took awhile to warm up, but I did it! Mom was so proud of me that she bought me a Bark Bar, my fave special treat. Life is pretty good. I'm learning curl up, give ten, and speak. They are all in the beginning stages, but I'm getting there. The cat is still a wimp and a sissy, but what else is new? Oh well, I'm off to chew on my stick- Later!
