sign language! Cali has learned SEE signs to keep up with things going on around her! Just try signing "cookie" or "eat" around her!!!
Arrival Story:
A local breeder had three 8 week old puppies left. While waiting for the husband to bring the puppies in from the kennel, I played with the mama and daddy dog! The daddy was quite the energetic yapper and was bringing me every toy in the house! The mama dog was so gentle and tender! She jumped up on the couch where I was sitting and curled her body right next to me as she laid her head right in my lap! Soooooooo calm and easy going!
When the husband walked in with the puppies, it was love at first sight as I instantly spotted Cali! She seemed to have that quiet personality like her mama, while her siblings were scampering all about like their daddy! Guess what? Not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cali has grown up and shown me through the years that she is a genuine mix of her mama and daddy! She is quick as a wink in her responses, relentless barker when she persues something and rises with the sun! Yet, like her mama, she loves a puppy and transforms to the patient nanny when around one! She just seems to know the times when to be gentle & quiet and she moves her body quietly during those times!
Bio:
Cali is exceptionally intelligent and has a very keen sniffer!
She loves to find money (bills only!) and bring it to my attention! Cali has found money hidden under, on top of and inside things (like my pocketbook!) Never messes with paper, just money!!!!
Though she has some declining vision and hearing, Cali has the energy of a puppy! (Probably has alot to do with "throwing" her back/neck out at times from all of the jumping around! ) With doggie steps in every room and a trundle/ day bed in her playroom, Cali still manages to scale any surface ! She loves sitting on her windowbox, watching the neighborhood dogs take their daily walks and she always gives them her "What's up?" bark!

Alas, even Divas have to bring up such common terms as "laundry!"
You see, mom insists that we clean all my attire here at home. I have told her on several occasions, that the basic "wash & dry" service simply does not remove all the wrinkles from my garmets ! (And we all know how Divas hate wrinkles!!!!) But, she continues to do all of my laundry herself anyway!
Well, can you believe that this morning I heard her in the laundry room complaining that I had more outfits to wash than she did!!! DUH!!!! Was that really ever a question? *Cali rolls eyes*
Mom, sometimes I think you forget who's the Fashionista in this family!

My pals know by now that mom is really dedicated to Carolina Poodle Rescue! After we shared our special Christmas morning together, she headed out to CPR to take a few prezzies for all the pups out there. One particular blind pup named Tiger was really needing a heated bed to help keep him warm cuz, you see, he is "mature" like me and he gets cold real easy. When they set up the heated bed and placed Tiger on it, he absolutely LOVED it! In fact, mom took a picture of Tiger stretched out on his new bed and he looks so content and happy! (check out my photos!) Mom said it warmed her heart so to see Tiger enjoy the warm Christmas prezzie! Definitely, a warm Christmas is a great Christmas for anyone! Love you, Tiger!

Cali's mom writes the following.........
Most of Cali's pals probably remember that this time, one year ago, we were all praying that Cali would pull through a major medical crisis! She ingested cooking chocolate while I was at work and had to be rushed to emergency care where she spent 3 days in ICU! By a miracle (and lots of POP!) Cali survived with no detectable damage! When they discharged her, I was so gratefull to have my baby girl back in my arms, I just felt like I could never let her go!!!! All the support and love from our Dogster pals really substain me during that dark time and I will be forever thankful!
And, since today is a special day for "Thanks", I decided to spend it at Carolina Poodle Rescue! Giving my time and love to those pups is just my way of showing sincere " THANKS" for having my Cali another year and I am so grateful for each new day that Cali and I have together!
Hope eveyone has enjoyed this special day with those you love and cherish!
