Smart Dog

Mommy was very proud of me after my last CGC class on Saturday! She says that I'm doing very well, and that I'm a very smart dog!
In our class, someone I had never met before came in and petted me. She turned my ears inside out and picked up each of my paws. She talked to Mommy and jumped up and down and made funny noises. But I didn't move or bark! Mommy had told me to sit and stay, so I did!
Mommy told me to sit and stay while she walked across the room. I did not move until she called me. Then she told me to sit and stay again. She walked across the room, came back, and walked all around me. I did not get up until Mommy and I were back in a heel position, and she said it was okay!
We also took turns walking back and forth through the room. When Mommy and I met another dog, we stopped, and I sat down. Mommy said that I was very polite, and very smart.
Next, we all lined up in a row - each dog and handler together with a few feet in between the next dog and handler. First, Mommy and I walked around each of the other dog teams. I walked nicely with Mommy and did not stop to sniff the other dogs or handlers. Then, we stood with the others while each of the other dog teams took turns walking around us and the others. I did not move, or get up or bark. I was very polite, just like Mommy taught me!
The last part was very hard. We all stood in a row just like before. But this time, Mommy left me alone. She told me to sit and stay, and then she walked away, moving around all of the other dogs by herself. I could hardly see Mommy when she got to the end of the row, but I stayed, like she told me! When Mommy got back and gave me the release command, I stood up politely. She petted me and said what a good, good girl I was! She was very proud!
Mommy says that a new trainer is coming to the house tomorrow for some "tutoring". I'm very excited! I can't wait to learn some new tricks to show my Dog Therapy Patients!

Mom says we're moving! How exciting! I get my own bedroom in our new house, too. Of course, I have to share it with Winston and Maury. That's okay though. I love my brothers.
Mom brought home a new pet a few weeks ago. It smells funny. It's definately not a dog. It doesn't smell like a cat, either. It stays in her bedroom all the time. It lives in a crate, but the crate is made out of nylon like my bones. I don't know why it doesn't just chew its way out. I sure would. Mommy says the thing is an iguana, and his name is George. She also warned me not to sniff him too much, or he will hit me with his tail. I don't know what Mommy's talking about. I don't think George can even wag his tail.
I saw Maury getting high on catnip again today. I'm getting worried about him. I think I'm going to talk to Mommy about an intervention.
Winston has been doing a lot better lately. He's been through a lot with his first mommy dying, and him moving in with us. He didn't know any tricks at all when he came here. Mommy has taught him a few. She's good at that. He's still having problems going potty where outside, so Mommy said tonight that she's going to put him in obedience school. I remember when I went to school. It was so much fun! I told Winston about it. He's excited but very nervous that he won't do well and Mommy will be upset. I told him that Mommy loves us, and she won't be upset at all. She is very proud of him for what he's done already.
Winston says that Mommy is talking about taking him to a different school than the one I went to. It's in Chicago. I don't know what Chicago is, but I know it's far away. It would be so much fun to go away to school and meet other dogs! I would miss Mommy though. I wonder if Mommy and I will get to go with Winston...
