Gotcha Date: May 22nd 2006 Birthday: March 22nd 2006 Likes: FOOD and stalking rabbits and squirrels, and he loves his agility classes Pet-Peeves: intruders on his property & the neighbor's cat. Favorite Toy: squeaky toys he can maul/tennis balls Favorite Food: He mainly gets a rotation of whole piglets, whole rabbit, whole chickens and wild moose and deer meat, but he's a chow hound and loves all food. Favorite Walk: the dog park/along the river Best Tricks: Farley knows over 40 vocal commands and tricks. He has a wonderful recall as well. He's partial to jumping the hurdles in agility :) Arrival Story: I had wanted a dog since I was old enough to know what a dog was. I was looking through a local shelter's website in 2006 (when I was 16), and I saw his baby picture and I had to have him. Farley is from a big litter of 11 pups, their mama was a semi-feral native reserve dog. He was the last pup left! Definitely meant to be mine. I have learned so much from him and we have developed an incredible bond over the years. He is my heart. Bio: Farley is a very smart, high-drive boy who loves to learn new commands. He's goofy and fun, yet very protective of myself and our property. He's excellent at any endeavor I can throw at him. I couldn't ask for a better dog! He is now officially an agility dog and I'm working our way through our second half of intermediate classes currently (that's 24 classes after we complete this set)!
I did a dog DNA test for Farley recently and it came back Border Collie, German Shepherd, Scotch Collie and Labrador Retriever. He definitely shows strong GSD and Border Collie traits- he is VERY protective/territorial, uninterested in attention from strangers, VERY smart, has a high prey drive and tons of energy.
