Arrival Story: When my 11 year old Golden retriever named Ben, died of cancer I was heartbroken. He was my life. Because I could not stand the silence of a "dogless" house, I only waited 1 week before I was surfing the net looking for breeders of Goldens/Labs. I was contacted by 2 breeders, one a golden breeder and the other a lab breeder. I chose the Golden breeder first as my heart still belonged to golden retreivers. They had an upcoming litter that was not ready to come home until July. (It was May) I was told we could come and check out the place and decide if we wanted to put a downpayment down on the upcoming litter. So we hopped in the car and made the drive to Moonstone Kennels located in St. Jacobs Ontario, which is around an hours drive. Upon arriving at the breeder, I was told that there was one male puppy from another litter which had not been spoken for. And if I wanted to, I could take him. He would be able to go home in 2 weeks time. Next thing I knew I was putting my money down! We could not choose the puppy ourselves, as others had been waiting to choose their puppies before us. We had to wait to see which pup would be ours. Poor Jake was a leftover!! I still remember getting the picture from the breeder of jake taken that night that said "This is your new love." He was probably the cutest thing I ever saw and even though we did not choose each other, I fell in love with him. He was the one I would have picked. He was the one I was hoping for!
Bio: Jake is named after the town he came from - St. Jacobs. How original huh?
Forums Motto:
My boy.....my ball crazy twit. My dog park bully. My sweet love.
You came into my life when I needed you most.
4 years ago I was still crying over Ben passing away and you came to the family and kissed my tears away with your precious little puppy licks. And I knew then that I would love again.
You are a show off, and a very smart boy. You love tennis balls....I have NEVER had, or seen a dog as obsessed with balls as you are! I swear you would choose balls over food.
I want to thank you for showing me so much love and giving me those slobbery kisses! I love you so much. I also want to thank you for letting Teddy move in with us without too much damage. (Don't be so jealous, Jake it is not necessary) You KNOW we love you too!
Merry Christmas to beautiful Jake!
And if you check your stocking on Christmas Morning, you may just find a new ball or too......
Teddy is scared of the neighbours lawn decorations!
BOL!!!!
What a wimp! I can't believe it.
There is something else I can't believe:
I cant believe that on Wednesday November 4th it will actually be 3 years that Teddy has come to live with us...
3 years. Wow.
Where does the time go?
On another note I cannot WAIT for Halloween tomorrow night!!!
ARRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFF
I am planning to greeting every single child who comes to our house with JOY and GLEE!!! I will even give them all a taste of the ole happy tail. I am getting my tail all ready tonight so that i will be in tip top shape tomorrow, for the greeting action!!!!!
waggity wag wag!
Teddy, on the other hand, is planning to bark like mad and eat everyone who comes to the door.
I love visitors. Who cares if the visitors are dressed funny and want to eat our candy? A visitor IS a visitor after all.
Yes I ate the card and pic that Teddy is mad at me over.
Everyone seems to be mad at me a lot lately.
Mom is especially getting annoyed with my Happy Tail. You know, the Happy Tail we all have. The tail that only the BIG dogs get yelled at for wagging. ppphhhbbbttt. Little dogs never get in trouble for having a Happy Tail.
Here is an example.
This weekend in the same day within minutes of each other , I cleared a full cup of tea off the table and emptied it on the floor and soaked the rug and ruined some papers and almost the cordless phone. (Happy Tail),
THEN I knocked a picture off the table and broke the stand and Dad had to fix it (Happy Tail)
THEN I Happy tailed Dad right in the eye that night when he was laying on the couch watching TV........
What do they all have against my happy tail????
I keep hearing Mom say I am gonna cut that tail off !
I think it is a figure of speech, just like when they say "JAKE PUT THAT NOSE AWAY"
Like, what does that MEAN?
How can you put your nose away?
And where do you put it anyway?
