I was walking into a walmart in Iowa when I saw a man with a pick-up truck giving puppies away out of a bucket. They were so cute!! I wasn't living in a place where I could have pets but the girl who was with me wanted one for her mom and her. We picked out two girls and away we went. The guy who was giving them away had no teeth and said he "needed to get rid of them". I wish I could have taken all of them but that just wasn't possible. The pups stayed at my place for a while and then one left to go to live with my friends mom. Over the next week I realized that the girl who was supposed to take riley was really into drugs and had a problem. One night she came over and freaked out and booted riley across the room like a football, I kicked her out and told her riley was mine! I ended up having to move out of my apartment and it's been a challenge being single and trying to find placed to live that Riley can live with me. At first I thought I saved her but eventually I came to realize that she saved me too!
My family has has lots of ups and downs and illness and my life has been chaotic and stressful. But everyday I come home to my wiggly, happy puppy and everything is better!!! She is so happy to see me that she wags her tail so hard that her whole body wiggles!! It is the cutest thing in the entire world!!! She has grown on the whole family and is now considered my parent's "grand puppy"! My sister lives in the cities and when she comes to visit my parents we always have to make sure that Riley is there!! Anyway, I'm so glad that these circumstances brought Riley into my life! She is my sunshine and my sanity in an often crazy and unpredictable world!! I love you riley!! Hugs and kisses!!! (oh by the way when I say "give mommy kisses" she knows exactly what I mean and plants a sloppy on on my face!)
