This is the email Sadie received this morning from her grandma. :o(
Zoey passed away. Zoey passed away tonight. Please let Sadie know so she won't be expecting to see her on Wed. It seems the shots they were giving her everyday this week at the vet for the infection she had irritated the kidneys. Which, apparently, were unknowingly stressed because it appears she has Addison's Disease. Her potassium levels were climbing which can rapidly lead to shock and/or heart failure. Treatments could have been done by going on to a specialist and intensive treatments of numerous tests and drugs. All which she would not have cared for one bit. She had been at the vet all weekend in a crummy cage with a lampshade on her head because she kept biting through the IV that was trying to send fluids through to flush her kidneys. The doc spent a good part of the weekend up there with her but I finally had to make the decision tonight as things just were not getting better. It's too late to call and I can't talk without crying so sorry for just an email notification......
