Arrival Story:
My daughter lives in Houston and volunteers with a couple of rescues. I was on vacation there the week of Labor Day and went along on a transport. The return trip to Houston was a little 12 wk old pup that looked like Sasha, who my daughter had lost a couple of years ago (she was almost 15). I instantly fell in love with the little girl, but my daughter didn't have any details about where she came from, if an adoption was pending, the adoption fee, and so on. She said she just gets them from point A to point B. I wasn't happy when the rescue person on the receiving end said they had her scheduled for an ear crop, since it isn't medically necessary procedure. Without my knowing it, my daughter emailed the president of the rescue and told her, half jokingly, that I couldn't go on any future transports because I wanted the puppy. The next morning, as I was getting ready to drive back home, the rescue called to tell her the puppy was mine! No adoption fee because of all she's done for them (transporting hurricane dogs and supplies, adopting from them, fostering an unadoptable dog to prevent him from being euthanized)! We renamed her Sydney and we'll be meeting halfway on the 24th so I can bring her home. No more transports, because 5 dogs is enough!

Bio:
Appointment to have Sydney's ears cropped was cancelled, I told them I wanted her ears natural like most of her new Houston siblings.
