Arrival Story:
We wanted a dog, but what kind? We wanted something small that we could travel with, and beside that had no more specifications. Well, we found a site on Yahoo ( http://sy.adiho.com/ASA/Controller ?sysid=33&appid=9901) that went through a number of questions and what you like or want in a dog and it came up with an ITALIAN GREYHOUND! We did not know anyone with one, only saw one once so we researched the breed via the internet (of course), purchased a few books, tracked down a few breeders, and sure enough Yahoo was right!

Gina recommends Red Roof Inn's! They are inexpensive, have quite a few around the country, take small pets and do not charge extra!!!

Airplane Travel

One reason we wanted a small dog was so that we could take it with us everywhere! Gina was only 8 weeks old when she took her first plane trip to our 2nd home in Kiester MN, she slept the entire flight under the seat in front of us, never wimpered, never made a mess, etc.

Since then she has been everywhere in the USA with us and we even got her the $500 blood test so she can go to Hawaii. Now when the plane is coming in for a landing she usually wakes up and stares at us with her beedy eyes through her soft sider carrier.

We have had one problem with a US Airways supervisor once who thought her legs were too long and it was "inhumane" to put her in her carrier. Hence we missed our flight and lost car and hotel reservation money, but after a week US Air admitted their mistake and gave us a few hundred in travel vouchers (that could NOT be used to pay for Gina Marie's "tickets"!!!!!). Gina recommends that you print out the website airline rules and take them with you! They were quoting the hard sided crate rule to us (MUST BE ABLE TO STAND UP) instead of the soft sided in cabin rule (MUST E ABLE TO TURN AROUND).
