Arrival Story:
December, 1990, my dog Frank (great grandson of my chihuahua), woke me up to die in my arms. After that, I started to look for a dog to rescue. A friend knew of Patsy, who was not even 3 months old, and was given as a gift to a woman who was not a "dog person"...Patsy needed a home. I went to see her and immediately fell in love! I was told she cries and will need time to adjust to her new home. We bonded immediately, and by the time I drove her home, we were a couple! She never cried that night, but slept soundly in my bed, where she is right now. When I thought about it, she was born shortly after Frank died, and the timing of her birth and his death were very close....and I was meant to save her. Patsy just turned 17. This past year has been a bit tough, her age is catching up to her, but she is still pretty spry for her age!

Patsy is the CEO of my company. I needed a fictitious business name, so I called my company F.O.P. Productions. F.O.P. stands for "Friends of Patsy!" In 1994, after the big earthquake rocked southern California, I went into work the next day. I brought Patsy with me, because the ground was still shaking with aftershocks and she was scared. I was working for the largest independent advertising agency on the west coast at the time. One of the owners was showing the ADWEEK photographers around, saying how we were back at work the next day after the major disaster. He made a joke about Patsy, saying she would make nice ribs in the Orient. About an hour later, he called me to say my dog had come down the long hall into his office, looked him in the eye and peed. She obviously understood english and did not appreciate being described as a food item! That story made it's way around the advertising world in Los Angeles...Patsy is notorious! Patsy is just about to celebrate her 16th birthday in December. She refuses to act her age, jumping, playing and running around. people keep asking how old my puppy is...and not because of her size, because of her young behavior. She is crazy, running in circles, playing like a pup...but she has lost her hearing. The vet thinks she will live to 20 or more.
