Arrival Story:
There was an add in the paper for puppies about 13 years ago, and my family went to go look at the puppies, wanting to find the perfect one we couldnt pass him up. He was the only puppy not sleepy. He wiggled around and licked. He took a while to sleep at home too, we wanted him to get used to sleeping in a bed in the kitchen, so dad decided to sleep on the kitchen floor the first night, it was the only way to stop the howling. For years after that we had a tall box for him to sleep in in the with a pillow in it, and around 10pm when he was tired he would go in the kitchen and sit by his box, waiting to be lifted in. He loved it. Later when we bought a kennel instead he loved that too and still does, but now he has the freedom to sleep where he wants including in our beds.

Bio:
Terry is a Cockapoo Terrier, so he isn't only poodle and Terrier as it says above, he's also Cocker-spaniel.

My Tail of Devotion for Terry

I was only 9 years old when we got Terry. He was only 10 weeks old and I loved him from the start. I remember adoring the site of him sleeping in his own cotton bed, I would sit and pet his head while he slept, his head was the soften part of him. Terry has always been a watch dog, sometimes not warming up to strangers hours after they entered the house. He barks at the mail truck until the mail man's entire route is finished. (which is why Terry isnt allowed to look out to see the mail truck). During his younger years Terry seemed to feel as if he was more of a watch dog than a cuddle partner. It was a rare occasion that he would jump up to cuddle with me or anyone else. Although he often was invited, he ignored and was picked up instead. As he has gotten older and we have gotten older he has become more and more affectionate, in fact he demands affection by putting his legs in my lap and when I go to pet him in that position he immediately drops to a belly-up position so that I have to get on the floor to reach him better. He also cant stand a person laying on the couch or lounge chair and immediately joins them, ready for a cuddly nap. Other times he has a "back rub agenda" in which he will not lay down unless I continue to rub, if I stop he will sit up and push me with his paws and desperately try to lick my face. If I stop for long enough he will end the cuddling session and go sleep somewhere else. When he his happy to see me or any other member of the family Terry wags his tail so hard he practically cannot control that half of his body, it all wags! When I acknowledge him and talk to him he opens his mouth as if to yawn but instead makes a low howling noise...if you heard it you would know what it meanss..."OHH!! I CANT CONTAIN MY JOY!!! it is as if his happiness must be let out at that very moment. Terry is the first dog I owned and gotten to know, he is about 13 years old now and I love him dearly.
