Birthday: October 23rd 2003 Likes: Playing Ball, getting attention, going for walks Pet-Peeves: Other dogs, anyone else receiving attention, getting brushed Favorite Toy: Tennis Balls and her stuffed naked mole rat Favorite Food: Anything Favorite Walk: Our surrounding neighborhoods Best Tricks: She will roll onto her back to show you her belly if you ask her! Arrival Story: We got Macy on January 2, 2004. My husband and I were walking through the mall. As we approached the pet store, a sweet little freckled face peeked out at us from the last cage closest to the door. My husband caught sight of her and we just had to go in!! When we got inside we realized that there were 2 of them, her and her brother. She sure fooled us that day, because believe it or not, Macy appeared to be the quiet one. She just sat there looking out at everyone while her brother barked and hopped all over the cage stepping all over her in the process!!! We left and spent the rest of the afternoon deciding if we should get another dog or not. Finally we realized we just had to have her, so we drove home, picked up Richter and then went back and got her!!! There is a Petsmart across the street from the mall, so we took them both in to do some puppy shopping!! We walked them in and Richter did his usual "I'm nervous poop" on the floor. We put Macy in the cart so we could clean it up. When we finished and turned around, there was Macy, poopin in the cart! It was at that point that we realized it was meant to be!! Since then we have become educated about the horrors of puppy mills and pet stores. Knowing what we know now, I won't ever buy from a pet store again, but I certainly don't regret the purchase we made that day!! She is our little princess! Bio: My name is Macy. My daddy picked out that name for me when he got me as a birthday present from my mommy. I love to carry around all of my stuffed babies, and my favorite thing to do is play fetch, but only with real tennis balls!!! I can be very particular about things! I love to be petted and have my belly rubbed!! I also love when mommy has girlfriends over for a "Lovely Lady" party!! I can be a little jealous of other doggies, but me and mommy are working on that so I can have more friends to play with! Mommy says that I am very "mouthy" but I prefer the term "vocal". When I want food, attention, to go outside, to go for a walk, or if my ball gets stuck somewhere I will inform you right away! Forums Motto: IT'S ALL ABOUT ME!! Ok, so I know we have reported some pawretty weird weather/mother nature issues here this year. Well today is no exception. Here, in New Jersey, before it is even Halloween, it is snowing.
Yup you read it right! It has been mostly sleet, but there for about 1/2 an hour it snowed just enough to coat the cars and dust the grass. It is very chilly and windy, and is supposed to snow again 1-3 inches later tonight!
So right now I am kinda mad at Richter, cuz last week Cole gave us each some Halloween chewy thingys shaped like ghosties. Well Richter stashed one, and he went and got it out today and now he is carryin it all over. He won't eat it but gets all defensive if me or a cat even walks past him. Cole is napping, and mommy told him he better have it eaten by the time Cole gets up, cuz if not she is gonna take it away cuz she is afraid Richter might get too mad if Cole tries to touch it. He must have heard her loud and clear cuz he just ate it, and no he did not share not even one little bite with me! How rude!
Today is my 8th birthday!! I got a new bag of yummy treats, a new container of tennis balls, lots of chicken in my super and a fun walk!!
Things have been a little crazy lately, mommy had another allergic reaction last week, this one bad enough to send her to ER. And it was a blessing in disguise, cuz they also found out that mommy has a serious infection in her belly, and if she had let it go (like she was doing, that bad mommy!!) she could have been in serious troubles!!! They found it cuz when they were trying to figure out what the allergic reaction was to, mommy mentioned she had been taking stuff for her belly all week, cuz it didn't feel too good! So now she has to see lots of doctors (or vets to you and me!!) so they can figure out what she is allergic to, and get this belly issue taken care of! They think she is allergic to a type of red dye, that is the lead so far! But no one can do anything til they get this infection cleared up!
So I am going for my day of beauty on Wednesday, my spa day at the groomers. Just in time for me to be tres chic on HowloWeen!! One week to go!!
Tonight me n mommy had a "missin Dixie" moment. Mommy was making some chocolate chip cookie dough. It is one of her and daddys weaknesses, so she makes it a lot!! One of the best things Dixie taught me was to get in that kitchen as soon as the beaters turn on. Mommy would start blendin the dough, and me and Dixie would get our hineys right out there and sit by mommy's feet, given her the infamous cocker eyes! When she was done mixin she would always give me and Dixie a little taste before she added the chocolate chips!! To this day, I still get my little tail out there as soon as I hear the beaters, and mommy always gives me a little taste, and we always take a minute to stop, miss, and fondly remember our old girl!! Tonight mommy chuckled and said here we are havin a little sad moment, but I just bet Dixie found herself a little keebler elf at the bridge who makes her cookie dough til her hearts content!!! She's very self-sufficient that way!
