Beach Vacation

A couple of weeks ago I went on my first vacation! My mommy, daddy, and little sister Lynn all got in the car for the long 13+ hour car ride. At first my sister and I were not aware of what was going on. We just knew that we were in that darn car for a very long time!

I didnt like the car ride there very much. Sometime daddy would pull over at truck stops for gas and so mom can take us out to pee. Well, I HATE truck stops. They smell horrible, and I am much to regal to be caught at one of those places. (all right, all right, I'll admit... I was scared of everything there. People with hats, glasses, canes, luggage... and of course those big loud trucks. I was so scared there was no way I was going to pee there.) So mom and dad ended up having to take me to rest stops only.

I was thrilled when we finally got to the hotel. The hotel was right on the beach. It was dark outside, it was about 11 o'clock at night but I was already excited when I heard the ocean waves for the first time.

The next morning as soon as mom woke up she took Lynn and I to the beach. Neither of us was nearly as scared of the ocean as mom was. She was such a part pooper the first day. I wanted to get out in the water and play but mom was too worried I would get hurt. Luckily that was only the first day. She mellowed out after that and let us have some fun. Mom and Dad would throw sticks in the water for Lynn and I to get. The would throw them right in an on coming wave to us to get it, but I didnt mind, I loved to play in the waves. Lynn would wait for the stick to come close to shore before she would get it.

There was all sorts of great things for us dogs to do in The Outer Banks, NC. We are allowed in all sorts of places, and there are dog specialty stores left and right. They even had a dog bakery. We are allowed almost everywhere!

Mom said it would probably be a long time before we ever go back, but one day we will.

Hanging out with Goose ~~Storms~~

Since last night I have been hangin around with the great Goose Of Ironwood. Goose is my cousin. He is what humans call a yellow lab. But to Lynn and I he is a big white (he isnt really yellow) short haired, floppy eared dog.

My mommy and daddy have been staying at daddy's sisters house making sure no one breaks in. And of course hanging out with big Goose. I don't know where Auntie Krista is, but I know she will be back in a few days.

I like staying here in her big house, with her medium fenced in yard, and playing with Goose. One of my fav things about staying here is all of the white bed spreads to get my black hair all over! Goose white hair doesnt show up like mine. Lynn's hair shows up a little bit. All three of us are shedding. Oh buddy will Auntie Krista be in for a suprise when she comes back!

Another thing I like is that I can nibble on Gooses Large Breed dog food all day. My sister and I eat all of our dog food within about 5 minutes, and Goose eats on his all day. Mom says if I keep eating Large Breed dog food that I will grow even more. I am already a sheltie who is nearly collie sized!

It has been storming today. We were even under a tornoado alert. We had funnel clouds spotted near by. I do not like storms. I normally do not like to lay touching mom, but when I felt the storms coming I wanted to snuggle with her the whole time. It's embarassing that I feel the need to come to her for protection when I am the one in charge..... but I just couldn't help it!

the best dog bed ever

Thats what mom is calling it anyway. Since I am the dog, and that is a dog bed I think I should be the judge of that.

It's a Serta dog bed. Mom found it at Big Lots for $20, the kicker is, while online researching and looking for reviews mom found out that it normally sells for AT LEAST $80!!!!

I am unsure of it. It is round! I have never seen a round dog bed before. I will try it out later today, but I am skeptical that a round dog bed is something I am suppose to lay on.

My little sister will not even lay on it. I guess it will just take some getting used to.
