Whaddya think? My galpal Daisy did it for me. Why have a boring, cliche' holiday background when you can have heads, I say? Especially Coop dawg heads! Thanks, Daze...you're the best! (I love how you keep re-inventing your fabulous self, by the way. It's so Madonna-esque!)

Yeah...that's right. For reasons I am doggedly refusing to disclose, I , Governor Cooper, have decided not to kill my latest squeaking stuffie toy, the Suspicious Chicken.
I have been interrogating and torturing the chicken for about 2 weeks now; one of his wings has been removed, and his fuzz is leaking out in some spots...but he is still being permitted to squeak.
This is the longest reprieve ever granted to one of my stuffie prisoners; his partner in crime, the so-called "Angry Cow", was...shall we say....'dealt with' in a matter of hours last month.
I didn't care much for his 'udder' disrespect of my position of authority. BOL! Get it? udder disrespect?! Hah! I kill me! Barrroooof!

This morning Moms and I went to the local state park for an early morning stroll. Mom used to be a ranger there, so she knows all the good spots for some off-leash rompin' where no one will be around. And boy, did I do some rompin'!
On our way back to the car, we went down to some water where I like to do a little wading, and there was this THING there! I gave a growly "wrroooof!" But I think it scared me more than I scared it. Moms called it a peh-lick-ann...and she said it was a good thing she had popped my leash back on...cause I wanted to swim out after it! I don't know why I never noticed before, but those things are everywhere! One of these days maybe I can get a closer look...heh heh.

I've got a secret, pups! Mom and I just got back from our nightly walk, and we did a sneaky, fun thing! We went to the BEACH!
See...Moms and I live right by the beach, but doggies aren't allowed in our part of town. Normally we have to drive 8 miles to the beach where I am allowed, on a STUPID leash. But tonight, it was a little cold out, and real dark, and no one was around...so we did it! HAH! Moms even let me off the leash, and I ran and ran and RAN! Arrrooooooof! Boy was that fun! I seriously recommend it....I mean it. Come visit me, anytime...and I'll show ya!

The following is an excerpt from an actual conversation between Cooper and his mom, Teresa:
COOPER: Hey, Mom?
MOM: Yes, Coopity Doop?
COOPER: Oh...DOG!...see? That's what I mean...
What IS it with all these nicknames, for Benji's sake?
MOM: I really don't know what you're talking about...OH...I see, you'd rather
I didn't use anything but Cooper, huh MooDog? (that one's for all the
grass you eat)
COOPER: Well, I didn't say that, exactly...I just wondered WHY?!
MOM: I just can't help myself, Schnorty...you're too cute and they just come
out. That's a new one, you like it? Schnorty McSchnortz. 'Cause of all
the times you schnort really loud when you smell something odd.
COOPER: I do that? Really?
MOM: Yeah, Dope! When Grandma's smokin' her cigs...or when we walk
past the gas station...you are a schnortin' fool.
COOPER: Hmph..I guess you're right....but those are some bad smells!
MOM: I agree completely, Schmoops. Now...here's a question for you.
COOPER: Okay, Ma....shoot.
MOM: Spazimodo, you know I love you, but WHY do you have to kick dirt all over me EVERY night...at least once?
Couldn't you give me a little warning, so's I could get outta your way?
I mean, GEEZ, Coop! That's a lot of dirt in my shoes, you know? I could accept some blame if you were giving me a sign or something...like peeing first, THEN kicking, but NOOOOoOooo. You just go straight for the fling....next thing I know there's sand and grass and stickers all over my feet and legs and in my shoes! And....AND...and ANOTHER thing, My Sweet Baboo.....
COOPER: Well,...uh....errr...HEY, what's that over THERE! Gotta go, see ya!
Love ya...really, you know I do!

Mom's heart is breaking right now, cause she just found out that Buford T. Pi'bull has lost his battle here on earth. He was a courageous guy...who had a horrible start in life, but he at least got to live the life of a king for one whole year.
Click here to see the thread. All you pups give your moms and pops extra snuggles and licks tonight...and keep room for Buford in your thoughts.

A Cautionary Tale...
by Cooper
Ahem, ahem *clears throat*
Grandma is mad at me
As I write in this blog
For last night I did steal
Sixteen pieces of hot dog.
Left on a plate they were
Ready to be made
Into 'pigs-in-a-blanket'
To eat while playoffs were played.
How could I help myself?
No one was lookin'
My dinner was late!
Someone shoulda been cookin'!
(for me, of course)
Sooooo...heed this warning, please
All you pups in the loop
If you choose to do as I did,
You, too, will end up poopin' soup!
( though it was TOTALLY worth it, IMHO, they were Nathan's dogs...delish!)

So, every night my mom and I walk about a mile along a busy road; for exercise (for both of us) and poop purposes (I'm doin' the poopin'). Lately we keep seeing this little black dog running loose. I think he's the neatest thing since shredded cheese, and I try to play with him whenever I see him. We run into him at the same place, about 1/4 mile into our walk, and he stays with us for awhile (he and I pee on everything together), then he always takes off. Mom and I call him Nacho, and he's soooo fun. He looks like a pittie mix, with a white stripe down his face and a white chest. Nacho could probably use a BK Whopper or two, he's a little skinny. I wish we could keep him! I'd love to have a fur brother. You can tell he's a little wary of people, though..cause he never lets Mom touch him...just me. It makes Mom sad that no one loves him enough to give him a Whopper, a safe home, or even a collar with tags on it. My poor friend Nacho...I'll say a prayer for him tonight that he's safe at home, wherever that is.

Bow WOW! What a holiday season, huh pups? I had the best Christmas EVER, I think.
So much happened! Mom got a new camera from Santa...it takes movies, too! Mom's sister came to visit with her hubby and their 2 furkids...so I met my cousins Charley (an Airedale girl) and Hershey (a German Short-haired Pointer boy). Hershey didn't like me so much at first (Mom said something about me being in uber-spaz mode), but he eventually got used to me. Charley is such a pretty girl, and I did my brindle best to impress her with some butt-tuck laps around the house; but then everyone started yellin' at me for it! Yah I know the house is too small for that, but it's not like I was gonna knock anyone over or anything, SHEESH! We all got lots of treats and toys on Christmas...and I even shared my 30 inch bully stick.
They went with me to my park, and met my golden retriever buds Marley, Katie and Rusty...that was fun, too. I like having visitors!
BUT...there was that fluffy little white guy who came over on NYE...I'm not too sure about him. His name is Trouble (that's for dang sure!), and he lives across the street from me. He's a senior citizen poodle, and just when I was sniffin' his nose to say, "Hey"...he barked at me! Scared me half to death, I tell you! Then he barked again..right in my face! Well, that freaked me right out..so I high-tailed it on outta there and hid behind Grandma's chair. I knew she had my back and would protect me against this.....Trouble! He ended up gettin' used to me, too...so much in fact that he kept tryin' to climb up on me from behind! I did NOT like that at all...how'm I supposed to respect my elders if they don't respect me first! In my own house! Hmmm?
