Baywatch Bertie

Baywatch Bertie is my new name.......Mommy has been taking us to the beach over the summer and I am now a fully fledged champion swimmer!!!!

The first time Mommy took us I dangled my paw into the sea and thought..nope, no way, not a chance am I getting my belly wet...no amount of balls being thrown, treats or coaxing would get me in any further!!!!!!!!

THEN.........Mommy went into the sea and started walking away from me.....ooh I can tell you the panic set in....what am I going to do?...I gotta get to Mommy...gotta get to Mommy...so I just jumped in and my little legs suddenly got a life of their own and then there I was next to Mommy again.....that wasn't so bad after all...... actually it was quite good fun!!!!

Ever since then I am the first one in the sea, and the last one out...Mommy calls me her little Baywatch Bertie.

My new brother

Well there I was lying on the balcony catching a few rays and barking at the humans who had the liberty to pass in my vicinity when I hear Mommys car........woooohoooo Mommys homes mommys home, I run to the front door and put my nose to the ground..yep here she come, just as the door opens I start my bouncing dance of joy when I see Mom has something in her arms....hmmmm.....looks like my sheepskin rug after a hot wash, she then bends down and puts my rug on the floor..............holy moley...my rug has legs.............and a butt!!!!!!!!!!
Well Mom explains to me how she came to find the little fluffball and that we are looking after him until she can find a good home for him.
That was two weeks ago and we have fallen in love with the little guy and have adopted him. So I am officially a big brother...how cool is that!!!
The only problem is the little dude thinks my butt is a teething ring and his teeth are oh so sharp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It my birthday and I'll howl if I want to...1 yr old today

I must say I am really liking this bertieday business...don't really understand what it means but its great and I can highly recommend it to all!!!

Mommy has given me so many kisses and cuddles I think I just had a whole days supply in one hour!! Wow...I just found next to my din-dins bowl the BIGGEST bone in the WHOLE wide world !!!!! It must be from a dinosaur or something...although something I can tell you for sure , its definately not from that pigeon dude...bol!!!!!(see my previous diary entry)

Mommy keeps howling 'Happy Birthday to Bertie '... now if she was on that tv show Pup Idol I would give her 10/10 for effort but between you, me and another 40,000 pups howling is not Mommys strong point!!....now if it was Cat idol, that would be a whole different story!!! Bol Bol

Ooh ooh my Daddy has just given me lots of toys, squeaky balls, rubber chewy ring thingys and a froggie with stretchy legs.........wow, cool.

Gosh this is really a pup paradise...Mind you tiring stuff all this excitement ....maybe a nap is in order....but really I should first ponder on the big decision I have yet to make...in what order do I chew/play with my new things ......hhmmm...yawn....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

New Trick

Well I have been up for hours...Mommy said I woke up at 'hour ridiculous' today!! I thought for once I would be a good pup and wake mommy nice and early so we could play for longer before she went to work....Nobody told me it was a bank holiday!!!

Anyway its all good as I love it when we are together all day. Mommy is trying to teach me a new trick today..it goes something like this...she points two fingers at me and says bang bang and I am supposed to roll over and stay still for a few seconds... stay still indeed...now that is what I call ridiculous!! Anything to keep mommy happy though and a extra treat never goes amiss!!

I remember when mommy was first teaching me to roll over.. I caught on really quickly and then decided to improvise, so when Mommy said to me 'roll over' I just rolled my head in a circle...Bol...nobody clarified what I had to roll... Bol...it did make mommy laugh.
Now let me think...how can I improvise this new trick.........!!!!!

My first encounter with a 'Pigeon'

I just love Sundays, mommy is home with me all day, I have been for a long walk and I have been playing with my new toy - Mommy says its a monkey and it has long dangly legs and when I grab him he makes monkey noises......I was a bit bemused at first but now I love it.

I have to share with you my first encounter with what mommy now says was a pigeon..well I love to sit on the top of the sofa which is against the window and I was sat there minding my own business and this grey dude with skinny legs was all of a sudden sat on the other side on the window sill!!

Well I can tell you I was a bit surprised - I mean how did it get up there??!!!! I was looking at him looking at me, and I put my head on one side and he did the same, then I put my head on the other side and he did the same again, this went on for 30 seconds..I thought it was my reflection and was thinking 'DUDE you are one strange looking pup.. 'Anyway Mommy was laughing so much I got distracted and looked at her and when I looked back this 'pigeon thingy' had gone.

Funny old day so far, yawn, think I must have a little snooze and then contemplate how that 'pigeon' managed to get up on my windowsill AND stay verticle with that little head, big body and only 2 scrawny legs...!!!!!
