Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Quick Bio:

May 26th 2003

Snuggling on the couch; taking walks; his fursisters; ME!; A patch of sun on the floor to snooze in; a comfy doggie bed with a soft blanket in it; a good bone to chew on...

When someone makes that rasberry noise and most definetly THUNDERSTORMS!! He also hates when one of his fur-sisters tries to get his Kong toy off of him when there is a treat inside. That is the ONLY time he will ever show any kind of assertiveness!

Favorite Toy:
KONGS! He loves to have one in the bathroom while mom takes a shower. He's an eccentric little boy...

Favorite Food:
Spaghetti, stuffed Kongs,Plain Milk-Bones and mostly anything else except pickles or olives

Favorite Walk:
Ambling along with us (off leash) on our 5 acre property, just sniffing all the good sniffs and finding something new.

Best Tricks:
Sit-Stay, Down, Give Paw, See and bark at dogs on TV!

Arrival Story:
After researching Cavaliers, we just felt that this breed was so perfect for us. We found a wonderful breeder and discovered that we had to wait about 9 months until we could get a puppy. (Kind of like waiting for a baby, huh?) Well, he was more than worth the wait! To us, he is as close to perfection as a dog can be, except for the fact that he can't keep his tongue in his mouth!

Hi again! Tristan here! Mommy is not too happy with me today. :( But I am VERY woofin` happy! This is how is all happened: Mommy and Laura (my human, furless sister) went to do some errands and me, my Dad and my furblings stayed at home. Well, my very good dad decided to take just me to help him burn some things outside. It was a barkin` good time, just us two guys and all! No females! We are so outnumbered here you know. So, he was busy with the fire and I was standing guard like a good Cavalier and pretty soon the most dogalicious smell came wafting by me! I had to investigate this putred aroma. Oh, what an intriguing scent! It was coming from this black ooze on the ground. Maybe if I get it on me I can wear it all day and keep the smell with me? Oh....I know my Mommy can't understand that this is a GOOD smell and I maybe should just walk away. Oh but I MUST!!! And I dood it anyway! I rolled and rolled and rolled! felt sooo good! Arrroooo!!!

Alas, all good things have to come to and end. My Dad called Mommy and said she had a surprise waiting for her when she came home. I think I am always a good surprise! ;) WOOF! But she didn't think I was a GOOD surprise this time...First came the hose, then came the bath in the sink. I was a good pup as I always am for a bath but I really did like that black ooze smell better than this shampoo smell! But alls well that ends well. I had fun running all around the house acting like crazy dog and terrorizing my furblings! Ta Ta for now! ~Tristan

Saving the World from Monsters

Hi there! Tristan here! I am so happy that my Mama finally let me write in my diary because I have lots to bark about! I MUST tell you about my fight with the monster though, last night. I saved everyone my Mommy says.

Well, as always, my very good mama lets me and my 3 fur-sisters out to, well, you know, in the middle of the night last night. We all came back in (whew, what a relief!), and my sisters went back to bed straight away, but me and Mommy came last and YIKES!!! It's a woofin` good thing that I was first because Mommy would have stepped on the bad, evil, green and hideous montrousity that was laying in wait for us in the dark hallway. It looked kind of like one of Honey, my fursister's Dinosaur stuffie's legs. But of course it couldn't be that because it was just too terrible just lurking there in the hall! Well, my doggie eyesite is in tip-top shape and I spotted "it". I froze dead in my tracks, the fur at my neck stood up on end, I thought maybe I should growl to warn it of my impending attack, so I did! I growled and growled and growled! It didn't move!! OK, I thought, I'll just go right ahead and actually BARK! at "it". Mommy stayed right behind me. I was proctecting her! Oh, this nasty thing STILL wouldn't go away! Whatever was a Cavalier to do?? My fursister, Zoe wasn't coming to help me either, so I guess it was up to me. So, slowly, slowly, I crept closer keeping low and YIKES AGAIN!!! "It" touched my nose! I backed up and regrouped and barked to myself, "It's now or never. I have to save my Mommy and if I don't I'll never be able to face another day!" So I took the plunge and just lunged on that horrible thing, snatched it up in my jaws and shook really HARD it until I broke it's neck! Ha! Dead as a doornail! I proudly trotted into the bedroom with it, dropped it on the floor and dismissed it as if it never even existed! It will never, ever terrorize my Mommy again!

My Tail of Devotion for Tristan

Tristi, your Daddy and I love you sooo much, it almost hurts sometimes. You are our baby out of all your fur-siblings. It's so comforting to know that you are always there, loving us back with your constant smiles and kisses. We love the way you "bop" up the blankets at night on our bed so you can get them just the way you want them. (Bopping blankets is digging at them to fluff them up) It makes us laugh every time! Then when you fall asleep, you snore and Mommy doesn't know if you or your Daddy is the one making more noise! It's also so funny to see you spinning around and around when you are anticipating a bisquit or other treat. And you are such a silly boy when you see other animals on TV. You bark and try to get right in the TV at them. If a rooster is on TV, that's the worst of all! You go totally ballistic then!

Tristan, we are so proud of you too. You were such a fantastic student in Obedience Class and were able to get your Canine Good Citizen Award with no trouble at all! And then you went on to get your Therapy Dog Certificate too, to top it off! The people at the nursing home love you a lot and you you bring such joy to others. But no one can love you more or derive more joy from you than your Daddy or me. We will love you forever and ever.

This is a special Tail of Devotion
