Arrival Story:
We were with our other dog, Rowdy at his outside playgroup at the Nebraska Humance Society and we saw a volunteer dogwalker walking a couple cute beagle mix dogs. I thought they were cute and we had been talking about getting a second dog. We went to the kennels and asked to see the new beagle mixes - and there SO many of them!! They all had tattoo markings on the inside of one of their ears. We heard maybe they were bred for some lab testing maybe for vaccinations? But no information was really known about her. Coco was so scared of people and we think she had been kenneled all of her 6 months. We hoped she was healthy and we happily took her home. :)
Bio:
Today we received a birthday greeting from Dogster for our dear Coco. She actually died in September 2009 after a short illness. She began vomiting and was taken to the vet - x-rays and a swallowing study indicated a blockage in the intestine (we thought she ate something that blocked her) But, exploratory addominal surgery showed she had large inoperable tumors all over her belly. We were not prepared to lose her - but couldnot allow her to live with this. All 4 of us went to see her in the surgery room and we had our good byes. Thank you the wonderful staff at 24th Street Animal Clinic in Omaha and to Rainbow Bridge - for her paw print, lock of fur, and kind words. We miss our Coco girl!
