It's our month-a-versary!

Late last night I reminded mom that we had been together 6 months! We agreed that it's been the best 6 months of our lives. I figured this was a special occasion, so I begged mom to let me on-line and write about it.

I continue to gain confidence, according to mom. She is a bit more on her toes, though, because I have been getting into things I shouldn't be (i.e. poinsettia leaves, entire packages of treats, etc). I guess I'm getting more comfortable in my home. I've also taken to jumping up on mommy's bed and cuddling. I guess she doesn't mind, cause she doesn't kick me out. I haven't yet slept an entire night there. I just go up when it's bedtime and time to get up. I'm last on her mind at night and the first thing she sees in the morning. :)

Over the New Year holiday, I spent time at nana and papi's. That's my papi in one of my pictures. They took me for walks behind their apt. at Bull Creek in Austin. They just bought a new place, so mom and I will have to go scope it out soon. I hear they have a little backyard! That's exciting. For Spring Break, I'll be staying with them again while mommy takes a trip. Both of us are looking forward to a vacation

I gotta let mom have the computer back. She has homework to do. I'll be ready when she graduates.... maybe she won't be hogging the computer all the time.

I love the dog park!

Not only did I get to go to the dog park Saturday, but I got to go TODAY too! Mom spoils me :) We had so much fun both days. Mom actually made friends too! I am getting a bit more social as time goes on, though I never let mom out of sight.

Oh, and on Friday, mom and I met nana, papi and nana's parents in Fredericksburg for lunch. It was fun to get away. I got my picture taken by a photographer who contracts with Texas Highways magazine. He said I was the perfect color and a beautiful dog for the picture. Maybe I'll be in it next year sometime, huh?!?!? That would be super cool. Mom was really excited.

It's been awhile...

Whew, what a crazy couple of weeks! Let's see, last time I was talking about the grandparents. Well, we drove a really long time and met everyone. Of course, they all LOVED me! Mom was so proud, even though I got more excited than usual and didn't listen real well the whole time. We thought we were done traveling but.....

The day after we got back, mom got a phone call and was really upset. She packed us up in rapid time and we headed to pick up Papi. He said he wanted me to go, so I was in the car again. We headed out west again. Mommy and Papi were talking about how grandpa was really sick in the hospital. I was thinking, "but we just saw him yesterday?!?!?" I HAD to see him. But the hospital didn't allow me in. That's okay, because mom played with me at a park and even though grandpa wasn't conscious at the time, mom told him I was outside. Luckily, grandpa started to recover, and mommy told me he asked about ME! He said he couldn't wait to see me again.

Last weekend mommy didn't want to do her homework, so we went to the doggie park again. No mean policemen this time! :) We also went for lots of long walks because the weather was so nice.

I think that about updates my life. I'm just about ready for another trip. Mom said Thanksgiving is next week. She doesn't know yet where she's taking me, but as long as I go, I don't care!

So Fresh and so Clean!

This weekend we were so busy doing stuff around the apartment. Mom gave me a good bath Saturday morning; boy, am I clean! Then she cleaned the entire apt, top to bottom. We were both worn out when that was done!

The weather has been so beautiful, though I have decided to fake a limp during the middle parts of our walks. Mom isn't sure what to think, because I still run up the stairs when we get home. Hmm, maybe I need to remember if I am faking it, I have to do it the whole time. But, I think it's fun to get the extra attention. :)

Mom said I get to meet "all the grandparents" this weekend. I don't know what grandparents are, but if they rub my tummy, they'll be fine by me.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention something. Last Friday mom took me to her old school and I got to run around freely. So many kiddos came to pet me, I loved it.

I have such a good life.

What an adventurous weekend!

Yesterday started like any other Saturday, except mommy was telling me that she was going to Austin for her Godson's birthday party. She hadn't packed anything for me, so I had to let her know that I wanted to go! So, as she was unlocking the door to leave, I gave her my very best puppy dog eyes and she said, "okay, let's go". I love to go! She didn't have time to drop me off at nana and papi's or she would have been super late to the party. This is where the adventure really begins.

I met so many wonderful adults and kids. I really like kids. I've never been around so many at once, but it was a nice treat. When one person wouldn't pet me enough, I'd go to another. What a life! Mommy tied me to a tree on a very long rope so I could go wherever I wanted. But then came time to cut the cake. Everyone, including mommy went inside. Something in the next 10 minutes caused me to freak out, get loose from the rope and run away. Mommy came out and saw that I was gone! As soon as she told the others, the party was halted (boy am I special!) and everyone took off in different directions. One of the really nice ladies found me a few houses down. She spotted me out of the corner of her eye up (these houses are on hills) in the corner of the front yard, behind the AC unit. I was freaked out because she wasn't mom, but she got me to come down the hill a bit and we waited. Some others joined me and word got to mom and she came to get me! I was never so happy in my life! Well, maybe it was mom that was so happy. Once I got in the car, I refused to get out. Mom ended up having to leave the party a bit early, but her Godson is such a nice boy and he understood. We will have to go back and play with him and his big sister.

Needless to say, I slept really well last night once we got home. Today I am still tired. This is long, but I had to tell about my adventure!

I can pray the Rosary too...

well, sort of. :)

Mom needs to learn that I have a sort of affinity for items in plastic baggies. She had a new Rosary bracelet in its wrapper on the floor and I thought I would try praying it. Well, mom failed to tell me that I don't have to take the beads off after I pray them... Not only did I take them off, but I scattered them across the floor. It looked so pretty! Someday, she'll learn.

On Monday, mommy left my weekend bag out in the living room when she went to work. Well, I knew she had some treats in a baggie that went with me to Auntie Carolyn's. Carolyn fed me treats that she had, so I KNEW they were still in there. So, I had to tear through the plastic, but I got those treats. Mommy got home and was surprised because plastic pieces were everywhere. This is the first time I've gotten into anything when she's out. But, they WERE mine. She wasn't mad, she just laughed then took me for a walk. I'm happy.

Almost vacation time!

Mommy told me today that I will be visiting Aunt Carolyn's house this weekend. She is really cool, and has 3 dogs and a cat of her own. Of course, I'll miss mom, but she'll be out of town for a wedding or something like that. Mom's stressing out trying to get her classwork done beforehand. All I care about is that she takes regular breaks to play with me. So far, so good.

Time at Nana and Papi's

It's been a few days, sorry, mom's been hogging the computer. Thank God I'm here at my human grandparents house- they let me use theirs. My uncle Brett and aunt Whitney are in Austin for the weekend, so mom brought me to meet them. I haven't seen Whit yet, but Brett is okay... though he's a man, and I peed on mom's car seat when I met him. Mom keeps saying that someone long ago in my past must have hurt me, because I don't really like most men. My papi gets sad that I am skiddish around him, but it's just me. Part of me wants to run up to him, but the other part keeps me back. Maybe in time.

Anyways, I'm having a good time. Mommy is happy to see her family, so that makes me happy. Aunt Daphne and I are keeping our distance, but when no one's looking, we get along. Or at least mommy hopes we do. We're just so stubborn.

Well, gotta go eat.

All this wet stuff....

Today started out like any other day, we went on our walk. Mommy got this crazy idea and wanted to teach me how to play in the sprinklers. It was hot and sticky, so I thought why not? It was fun, but like any other daughter, I would never admit that to mom.

The rest of the day it has been rainy. Mommy said it's good for the grass and stuff, but I sure don't like it. In protest, I didn't go potty like I should have. I held it for hours, but finally gave in. I hate going potty on wet grass. Momma said I better get used to it, cause it's going to be like this a few more days.

Such a rough life....
