Hey, Where's my leg?

OK, so a funny thing happened. I broke one of my legs! Now, it was one of my back legs, so I couldn't feel a thing. But the break was pretty bad, so they had to remove it. Now I have only 1 back leg.

Luckily, I don't really need it anyway since I have my wheels. The nice vet left enough of my leg attached so I could still use my cart. Really the only thing is that I now only have 3 legs! Hey, I wonder what they did with my old leg anyway...

Yay! New Stuff!

Dear Diary:

It has been a great Summer! I got a new cart after my old one got worn out from the great people at handicappedpets.com. I got to go on a trip to Portland and I was interviewed by all of the TV stations. I was on all of the networks! My Daddy was on there too, but they were really there just to see me!

I was in the newspapers too! I was in the paper in Portland, Bangor, and the local paper here in Calais too. I made the front page of the Bangor Daily News!!More people to love and adore me! Very cool! I was also in the July edition of Downeast Dog News! Check out page 2!!

The coolest thing to happen this summer is the birth of our new human. His name is James and we all love him! I can't wait until he is grown enough to chase me all around the house! Maybe I'll chase him too!

My Birthday!

Dear Diary:

Today I am 7 years old! I don't feel old, but I guess that I am getting older. Oh well, I wanna live forever!

Merry Christmas!

Dear Diary:

I love Christmas! It is so cool to get tons of presents from people! I got a new collar, new leash, treats to eat, and even a new blankie!

Special thanks to Janet at the Riverside Dachshund rescue in California for all of her special gifts to me and my brothers and sister!

My Mommy and Daddy are expecting to have a baby in July. I can't wait! I will have a new person in the house to love me! I love peoples. They are the best!

Weinerfest 2007

Dear Diary:

Well, this past Sunday was the 4th annual Weinerfest in Belfast, Maine. It was so much fun! I got tons of attention from everybody. They all love me and my cart! They all said they were sorry that I was abused, but I just flash a smile and they forget about my past. I mean, I have left that part of my life behind me, and so should everyone else. Do not pity me!

I ran in the races again this year and I finished second place again. I just missed winning. I was so close! Next year I WILL win the race!

What a fun day!

Dear Diary:

Yesterday was such a fun day! My daddy had his company picnic and I got to go along with Pork Chop, Sadie and Sparty. We had so much fun! There were hundreds of people there, and they were all there to pet me! I love the attention.

We also got to eat lots of food! We ate chicken, sausages, hot dogs, bread, and even watermelon. YUMMY!! We ate so much that we were almost full!

New crib

Dear Diary:

Pork Chop and I have a new crib to sleep in!
The old one was chewed up(it was Pork Chop, not me!) and now we have a wooden crib. We can't chew through this one! It is very comfortable- we have our own mattress and everything!

Another girl!

Dear Diary:

I am no longer the only girl in the house! We now have Sadie, a long-haired dachshund. She was rescued from the shelter with her partner Spartacus. They are a really cool pair! Sadie is mega fluffy and Spartacus loves to play with me!
