Arrival Story:
I went to the shelter a few months after my beloved "bush-nose" {Trooper}died, I picked a very quiet 5 mo black n grey bearded puppy and did some quick behavior tests , then took him out of his cage to play fetch---he took to it quick, but he was very gentle and shy. Now he has warmed up and when he is happy he sneezes--I sneeze back for fun.

:)Out of all the 5 dogs that share the large yard he has the sharpest -EYES--he sees all the birds, butterflies, mice before anyone---including me. his tail curls over his back when he is excited or happy and it still points and curls up when he has it low [when he is board, afraid, reluctant]. despite all my efforts to have him gain weight and get some "muscles" on them bones [like my pitt bulls] he still stays thin and long legged [so i think the possible Labrador Retriever in him is not influencing his weight]. He does not have a traditional beard with the "goatee" part under his chin being the longest. Instead, his beard is actually longer around his whole lower jaw. He has been grey and black since at least 4-5mos of age . His hair is not soft but quite thick all over his body he does have a dark gray finer undercoat though. It appears that he never grew in at least 5 his adult teeth [could this have had a smaller jaw because of it's breed [for example, an English bulldog has less teeth than an average dog] or is it just a genetic "d be because he inherited a larger jaw than he had teeth for? I.e. could one of his parents effect? [it is mostly his 1st and 2nd upper and lower premolars that are missing]He is quiet and reserved but he is not afraid and suspicious of strangers. but he will defend his territory by barking in an unusual way[like a loud howl-bark] at first then he reverts to the bark of an average dog [like the lab, pitt bulls, and Rhodesian ridgeback we have in the backyard]---he has no sign of even one brown or brownish hair[except on his beard from saliva-but it used to be just grey n black as you can see from the puppy picture] on his whole body but he does have one paw that is white ticked with black just over the toes only ---
