Birthday: November 15th 2003 Likes: Sleeping on your feet Pet-Peeves: Baths - hated them with a passion Favorite Toy: Anything she could pinch from the boy's room Favorite Food: Pasta (oops) Favorite Walk: She was a couch potato Best Tricks: Shake hands and smooches Arrival Story: We went to the pound here out of curiosity and fell in love with her right away. She'd been badly abused and had a terrible submissive pee habit. Poor little girl. It broke our heart and she knew as soon as we brought her home that she was with a family that really loved her. Bio: Our beautiful Happy. Our eldest son named her because when she looked at you she'd "smile" hang her tongue out and just pant and wag her tail like you were the best person alive. It took a long time to get her full trust but she was such a wonderful patient dog with my son.
She started walking funny, and then I noticed after waking her from a nap that she'd peed in her sleep. I took her to the vet and she said she just had a UTI and to give her antibiotics and rest. She gradually over two weeks got much worse and I took her to another vet (whom I now is the only clinic I'll go to) and they did extensive testing. We were given the news that Happy had lymphatic cancer. It had started in her kidneys and just spread. She was given only a few months with a prognosis of obscene suffering.
She deserved so much better than that so I made the awful decision to have her put to sleep. She was cremated and now we have her ashes in an urn in our office. Always with us, the dog that gave so much love. I only hope we made her time with us as wonderful as she did for us. I've Been On Dogster Since:
