Archie celebrated his 5th birthday with little fanfare but did receive a wonderful new chew toy to add to his collection. His favorite place is his "window on the world" where he lounges on cushions, barks at the neighborhood cats and keeps salespeople at bay. Woof! He now has a nephew, Junior, who Archie dominates and drags around by his fur. Junior is very small and will never be able to defend himself. I think Arch has decided he is the king and that's the way it will always be. That's ok with me ;-)

My Tail of Devotion for Archie Griffin DeMay

Our previous dog, Duffy, was absolutely perfect. He had no skin diseases and no allergies at all! Plus, he knew over 60 commands. Duffy would never have an accident in the house and didn't jump on people, the furniture or really go anyplace he wasn't supposed to. When Little Duff passed away just 2 days after his 18th birthday, I could only stand being "dogless" for less than a month. I contacted a breeder by email and found that she had a little male that no one wanted because his ears were big. We got in the car almost immediately and drove to Springfield, Illinois and met Archie. He drove in with several other Westie pups in a van and met us at the Cracker Barrel restaurant. When the van door went up, there he was saying "pick me", "pick me". My husband was sure from the start that Archie would be our little boy because Archie just couldn't stop licking his face. I agreed and from that day on Archie has been our little boy. Sure, he has accidents, about breaks our windows trying to get at the neighbors cats, he jumps on people and licks them all over - but he is our baby and no other pup can replace him - Archie the West Highland Terrorist!
