Arrival Story: I found Logan at a purebred puppy store in Clearwater Florida two weeks before Christmas in 2004, just the type of place you are told never to buy a puppy. I was on a business trip and I saw him... he was the saddest puppy I'd ever seen. He was unhealthy, lethargic and his eyes had almost no hope in them. I fell in love. It didn't matter that the pet store was charging full purepred price for him... I didn't care the cost, I just wanted to bring him home. He was too sick to fly so I had to fly back down the next week just to pick him up and fly him home. The first vet I took him to told me without major surgery he'd most likely be crippled due to horrific problems with his legs. He was terrified of everything, five months old... he'd never been walked and had lived in a cage. He only knew to go to the bathroom where he slept. After a few months of love and exercise he received a clean bill of health. He is so happy now, full of love, friendly and affectionate. I am truly blessed! He was my own Christmas miracle.

Dear Mom,
The day you found me I had just about given up. I lived in a cage in a place that sold other puppies. Puppies came and went but I just stayed there. Nobody walked me and nobody played with me. All the other dogs did their little play routine when someone approached their cage... but I had pretty much given up on that and just slept in my corner. I didn't feel well. I'd been sick for a while. All I remember was being taken from my mother in a town far away and put into a cage on truck with other dogs who were crying. The truck took me to the place you found me. When you approached my cage, I just kept my eyes closed... I didn't want to get my hopes up. Then you picked me up and held me. I was too sick to play with you so I just put my head on your shoulder and went back to sleep. I was so afraid I kept shaking. Then you went away and I went back to sleep in my cage. 7 days later I couldn't believe my eyes. There you were again. I couldn't believe you came back for me. I tried to play for you but my energy wasn't there... you didn't mind. You carried me close and gave me my own soft squishy toy. You took me on a machine that flew in the sky and brought me to a place with a really soft bed just for me. You surrrounded me with every toy I could imagine and I've never eaten so many cookies. I'm still picky with my food, but you don't mind. You walk me all the time, we play and best of all you let me sleep with you. I used to be afraid... but not anymore. You gave me a cat brother and cat sisters and introduced me to so many new doggie friends. Life is good now... I love you and I know that you love me.
Thank you for finding me mom....
Love,
Logan
Dear Logan,
The day I found you I had been travelling on business and stopped into a little puppy boutique. You were so small and unhealthy, you weren't smiling or playing with the other dogs and you looked so lost and hopeless. I fell in love with you that day and was determined to bring the light into your eyes and help you get healthy and happy again. It took a week before you were well enough to travel so I flew to Florida to pick you up and bring you home with me to Boston. It was a week before Christmas and I felt like Santa Claus had brought me the best present at all. You are loving and sweet, devilish and playful and simply the most friendly and affectionate dog I've ever met. Everyone in the neighborhood loves you and you even put up with me putting winter boots and clothing on you. It's only to keep you warm and snug, well, also because you look so damn cute in some of your little outfits... especially your Red Sox shirt. You have been a blessing to me and the best gift was seeing the fear leave your eyes to be replaced by hope. You are loyal and loving... and I cherish you deeply.
You will always be the cutest boy in Boston to me!
I love you....

I'm sleeping in my crate waiting for lunch time to come so we can finally get out and play again. Lisa's working at her computer... she told me she's giving me my own homepage. Maybe some cute dogs will email me. I should tell her what to write... like, if you like to play, know how to share your toys and will give me all of your cookies then we should definitely make a doggie play date.
Oh yeah, don't forget, give me All of your cookies!
