Arrival Story:
My friend works at the local shelter happened to point her out to me and he thought 2 deaf dogs are better than 1! What can i say i am a suker..... So I waited till her last day giving her any chance to be adopted since I wasnt looking for another deaf dog. No one wanted her so of course I had to have her. When I first got her she would slink to me and roll over on her back but in only a few weeks she learned to walk on a leash, wag her nob tail, and even learning how to play with her deaf sister (who also wasnt to sure about the whole playing thing). Now these two are insepereable and she has perfect manners (except the whole stay thing) Pretty soon we are going to try therapy work. *update-Read Flower's diary for more on therapy **

Bio:
Flower is from what I know of her a poorly bred and was poorly handled Austrailan Shepard. She is Mostly white, Mis shaped pupils and has allergies. Right after i got her from the local shelter i found out how mistreated she was, she would hide in the corner of her crate, when she finally did come over she would slinkto you roll over and piddle. but in a few weeks she learned the leash, and that people are really kool. Now 2 years later she is on her way to being a therapy dog!

Flower's Test

Yesterday on Nov 6th Flower had her evaluation for our local pet therapy group. She did very well. Everybody is always interested to learn that she cant hear and thinks because of this she should somehow be more diffucult to handle or harder to train. she has been really easy actually, easier than any other dog i can remember. So everone was all very impressed with how good she did on her test. I personally look at it like there is that much less to distract her. Something being dropped or fireworks on the 4th of july doesnt matter to her. They even had to modify her test a little. Banging on the clipboard did nothing! so instead it was waved around her face ! So now she gets to go on three supervised visits and them will hopefully become a full fledged Therapy dog.
