Indy, our 12 and a half week old pup was attacked at about 4pm this afternoon in a dog park.
This was her first visit to a dog park as she had her second vaccinations through the week and the vet gave us the ok.
We were in the park for all of 30 seconds before a staffy X (the owner called it this) attacked Indy and shook her.
We took Indy straight to the vet (about 20 mins away) and she is in there now.
She is on a drip with strong painkillers, in an oxygen box and will need chest xrays as the vet thinks she has suffered punctured lungs and fractured ribs. Spinal injury is not ruled out yet either.
There is no guarantee Indy will make it through all this but feel we need to do all we can to keep her alive as the kids have already said goodbye to a family dog last month. Also, what sort of pain is she in? - no one can tell us that.
