I want to copy and paste every single poem and entry that everypup has written for me into my diary. They all mean so much to me. Please know I am at peace now. I love you all. Our family has read every single star and rosette that I have received.

I Left for the Bridge Tonight

From Hayley, my Dear Friend. I am with you now and Bandit too.

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying. You found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at the shops today. Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care.
I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "It's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...
in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning
and say "Good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out... then come home to be with me.

From Roxanne:

God saw you getting tired
A cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you, and whispered, "Come To Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,we could not make you stay.
Many times we thought of you, many times we've cried,
If love alone could save you, you never would have died.
A golden heart stopped beating, your tender hands at rest,
God took you home to prove to us He only takes the best.
..............
You never said I'm leaving

You never said I'm leaving,
you never said goodbye,
you were gone before I knew it,
and only god knew why.

A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried,
if love alone could save you,
you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
in death I love you still,
in my heart you hold a place,
that no one could ever fill.

It broke my heart to lose you,
but you didn't go alone,
for a part of me went with you,
the day god took you home.

My Friend Bandit

My Friend Bandit is now a Fur Angel. Bandit and I were both diagnosed with Canine Lymphoma at about the exact same time. I met Bandit on Dogster shortly after we were both diagnosed. We started chemo treatments right about the same time, in the beginning of September, both on the Wisconsin protocol. Bandit came into our lives at a time when we needed support the most. If it weren't for Bandit, and definitely some other pup pals on Dogster, the start of our journey against lymphoma would have been so much harder. I can honestly say that we made it through this first month of treatment so well because of the support we got from Bandit, Bandit's Mom, and our pup pals on Dogster.

Well, last Sunday Bandit got sick, and couldn't walk either. All week he didn't feel well, but we were all praying for a miracle. Last night Bandit died in his sleep. It was his time to go to the Bridge. We are so thankful that Bandit died peacefully and was with the ones that he loves the most.

Thank you Bandit for being my friend, and now you will always be my Angel. Please look down upon me while I fight this lymphoma. I must beat it for both of us. May you rest in peace, and chase lots of bunnies too!!! We will meet someday at the Bridge, and we can play pawball together, dress up in our tuxedos, and we can also go camping!

Mom and Dad will give me and our pack extra hugs and love today for you. Our sincerest condolences to your family. We are praying for you.

We Love You Bandit!
Your Friend Always,
Austin

Austin and Lyle Take Over the World!

Well, wouldn't it be great if us dogs could be in charge? My friend Lyle and I just had a nice chat about what it would be like to be in charge. We could sleep on the bed and our human bosses could sleep on the floor. We could drive the bosses' cars. Pick out our food. You get the idea! I just think that dogs should dominate the world. We are just so awesome! I will definitely have more to say about this, and will let you know if I make any progress. For now, I am going to take over the bed!

UPDATE: It has come to my attention that it will be more worth my time to battle cancer now than to take over the world. Although I have a lot of pups who want IN on the plan to take over the world, I think I will have to put the plan on hold. But definitely save up all of your ideas!!! At least you can try taking over your bosses for now as a trial-run. Once I have made lots of progress in the fight against cancer, including my own battle with lymphoma, we will resume our plan to take over the world. Dogs rule anyway!!!
