Leo's Memorial

I lost my first born baby...my precious boy Leo...November 1, 2010. One day before his 12th birthday.

Leo...I will love you always. You were my love and I miss you every moment of every day...


They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

From Emma and Maggie's Mom...A very special lady

I wanted to share this very special poem.....from a very special lady...and my very special friend. Emma and Maggie's Mom Kari and I just had a special bond from the first time we met..and in August of this year..she came to meet me...and it was one of the most special days of my life. I loved that she was there with me..and I got to hug her...and wag my big tail for her to tell her how happy I was that she was with me. I never thought it would be the only time I would ever be able to spend time with her...but it sure was a very special day. Thank you so much Kari. I love you. Love, Leo

From the first moment I saw you,

We were connected in a way
That only happens to a few

With your wise old face

The video on the right side of my page is a video of our very special friends Jessie and Jersey. This is 10 year old Jessie..playing with her 10 week old sister Jersey. Jessie is at the Bridge with me now...and Jersey has a Goldendoodle sister named Jasmine..who she loves to play with too!

To The Rainbow Bridge

Mom is very sad. I am at the Rainbow Bridge now with all my amazing Bridge friends who have gone before me. They gave me a wonderful welcome this past week. Mom is not ready to write a special diary entry yet...but our dear friends Maxi, who is at the Bridge with me now....and her beautiful sisters Kona and Halo and their wonderful Mom...wrote a beautiful poem for me....and I would like to share it with you now.

FOR LEO....

Another golden has gone away
To the Rainbow Bridge for another day
Though it doesn't make it easier for us that are here
For you are truly missed every second my furry dear
You were Mom's first and number one you will be
Even though we added other dogs to the family
Molly, Casey and Brandi came
But for some reason the first dog always has the fame
They become your love and all your heart
No matter what happens from the very start

So now we sit and wonder why
You had to go into the sky
To be with others that went before
Maxi will be there waiting at the door
To show you the ropes and get you your wings
To give you your halo and all your new things

We never got to meet you nose to nose
Over the mountain we never rose
But you will always be one of our best friends
Where ever this leads to the very end
We will watch your family to make sure they are alright
Rest in peace and love and once more Good Night

Mother's Day 2009

We had a wonderful Mother's Day here! Dad made Mom scrambled eggs and toast this morning. Then Mom gave us our breakfast with a SIDE of scrambled eggs....Yummmmmm!

And then we all went for a real long walk... It is just a glorious Sunday here in the Desert!!!

Then we all sat by the pool for a bit...and Mom and Dad were reading...and we were just chillin' out....

Then all of a sudden...the UNTHINKABLE happened!!! Brandi took Leo's ball when he wasn't looking....and said "Catch me if you can"...and the chase was ON!!! OMD...SO funny... Mom and Dad were hysterical... Brandi is SUCH a tease...and Leo is no match for her speed...and her bobbing and weaving....but none the less...he kept up the chase for 15 minutes or so....

Round and round the yard they went...Leo barking like crazy the whole time....

Mom was laughing too hard to even get up and get the video!

So we had a very FUN day.....!!!

First Summer in Pahrump

Well we are experiencing our first summer in Pahrump! Pretty hot I have to say. But we mostly spend our time inside with Mom which is just fine with me. That is my favorite place - right by her side all the time. Molly and Casey like to do lots of exploring in the backyard - but not me! I like being in the air conditioning next to Mom. The one reason I like going outside is to do my latest favorite trick -- I take my nice colorful rubber ball and lay next to the pool (only if Mom is in swimming of course) and hold the ball with the end of my nose and roll it into the water! What fun that is! And my Mom loves it too. She laughs a lot when I do it over and over. I even figured out how to pick the ball out of the water by myself. I like doing things that make my Mom smile! Mom also gave me my first swimming lesson the other day. Not sure I quite like the getting into the water thing (I know..I know...I'm a Golden Retriever and I'm supposed to like to swim -- but I guess I'm just different) but I'm getting used to it. Moving to our new home!

Hey everybody! Just wanted to let you know that my brother Casey and my sister Molly and I just moved to Pahrump, Nevada. We are finally in our new home which is just gorgeous and soon will have our backyard all fenced in so we can run around and play ball again. We left our home in NJ in October and we lived in our RV for 4 months til this week. Mom and Dad took us to the park here in Pahrump every day to play ball and we did lots of walking around this beautiful lake we were near -- but nothing is as nice as your own backyard!! So far it seems like we have lots of puppy pals in the neighborhood, but haven't actually met them yet! Can't wait to make all new friends! And we just love meeting all new friends on Dogster too!

Leo's Golden Life

Leo was born on November 2, 1998 in New Jersey. He is the first Golden baby that came to live with us. He is very close to his Mom and very protective. As long as he is near his Mom...he is happy. He has a very attentive personality -- he seems to listen to every word you say...and just wants to talk in the worst way! He loves playing ball --but will only play if he is outside by himself. If his brother and sister are outside playing...he just lays there and waits until they are done.

We love Leo's unique personality -- and he will always be special because he was our first baby!

He is moving to Nevada at the end of this year with his sister Molly and his brother Casey....to our new home...and we can't wait!
