"Mou Mou" (rhymes with cow cow = mountains) day with the- FLF!! !

Well..... I had a fun day today.... Yep! Mom took me to the "mou mou" (see above) and guess who showed up???? The FLF!!!!!!!!! THE WHOLE FAMILY!!!! ('cept nana and grampa who are jetsetting around the country). Well we started out hiking from the parking lot.... Mom let me go off leash so that I could "do my job" (herd everyone into a tight little group) I ran to the front of the group (young & healthy Daddy and Aaron) ... circled round back to the tail end of the group (fat old mom walking slow with the kindly Okapus and Rooz.. keeping her company). We "hiked" for what seemed like days (going at a snails pace) till we got to the "falls". They finally decided to let Baby Charlie go off leash too... and MAN! WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!!! Everpeeps were throwing stickys for us... Baby Charlie and me were taking turns.... fetching the stickys.... some of them were in the really deep water too!! We weren't afraid!!! We just kept on fetching!!! SO FUN!!! The lil'ler doggers had FUN too!!! Beatrix got to swim a few laps...(she's a very good swimmer... practaces all summer in her FLF backyard pool) and also performed some seriously grody cannonballs...I gotta admit... she's got grrrrrrrr8 form! (wink) and Johnny Thunder, Cinnamon and Honey Beyah stayed purdy dry... but they were in charge of "guarding" the group of peeps (like only Miniature Poodles know how too)... They scared off quite a few "shifty looking characters" who were hiking the trecherous "mou mou" trails.... By and by we had to leave (regretfully) ... for some strange reason the peeps were soaked to their skins (?).... and shivering... so we headed back to the cars. On the journey back to our cars I got to teach Baby Charlie a lil bit of my herding techniques.... I did need help as the group got quite straggly what with ol mom shivering in her soaking wet pants, and the other peeps tolerating her constant complaints and whining... Uneventfully we forded the stream and headed for the cars, where the trail was surrounded with beeeeeooooootteeeeefoooo yellow flowers... sniff sniff sniff... it don't get much better then this!

Nice day today!!!

I had a purdy nice day today!!! My mom took me to petsmart to look for a new harness and leash we picked out an acceptable blue harness and leash. While we were there I was viciously attacked by another dog!!! She was medium sized and looked sort of like a Golden Retriever (mixed with godzilla?) I think she might have been embarassed because she had a "lampshade" on her head (I guess to keep her from chewing on stitches she got from her last brawl?) I'm sorry... those thing look funny - I took one look at her and turned away and ...under my breath, very quietly... I snickered - hey!!!! she looked funny!!! Next thing I know... she's on me like a scared monkey!!! She was actually growling at me!!!! Thank doggod my mom was standing real close to me! So I climbed up her back - or at least I tried to - she didn't appreciate this - I guess my toenails need cutting! She screeched! And finally the owner of "Dogzilla" came and pulled her off of me. After we recovered (I say we because my mom had red scratches on the back of her legs and was a little upset-I was upset over having to show my "macho" side)my mom paid for our stuff and we went hiking!!!! yay!!! It was great up there and I met a new friend!! His name is Iggy and he's a real Golden Retriever - no lampshade! - no attitude! and just a really nice guy. We got to hike together and run circles around each other and discuss our favorite water holes and we had a really nice time. Eventually the sun went down and we had to go home. sighhhhhhhhhh!!! What a perfect ending to a purdy good day!!!

Wow! My Mom loves me!

My mom has been very nice to me lately... am I sick? Last week on Thursday she ditched work and took me to the Dog Beach (at Huntington Beach CA) we played with frizbee's (my mom's not a good thrower and even worse at the beach with the "hurricane" force winds blowing) I went into the ocean alot! My head went under the waves and I got water in my ears (now I know why water dogs like labradors have flappy hangy ears). Ran alllllll over the beach, sniffed and played with the other lucky dogs, and had a reeeeealllll goooooood time! Then on saturday she took me to Eaton Canyon (Hiking Trails). We went with some of my moms friends and there was a little (skin) boy (5 years old) who kept hugging me - I liked that! We hiked for about 100 miles or so and about half way there we found water!!!!!!!!!!! So I got to get wet again (did I forget to mention that I had a bath on Friday after the beach?) oh well, I'm sure my mom prefers a happy dirty dog to a clean bored dog. I played in the water and had a lot of fun splashing around. I tried to get the little boy to come in but.... his parents wouldn't let him (dang!) and........ my mom took me hiking again yesterday!!!! tada!!!!! and it was great. I met a Dalmation who was very friendly! & got to play in the stream (roaring river) again. I wonder why my mom's being so nice to me? Hope it keeps up! I think maybe it's the weather lately not really hot???? I think she's going to do something fun with ratty today (dang! - I guess the little dude needs fun too - what he considers fun is not the same as what I consider fun - let me tell ya!) Gotta go for now.

yeeeeouch!

guess what my diary entry is about today..... 3 guesses. i'm a big old strappen boy german shepherd. what would really hurt me the most!? you guessed it... i had the snip done. yeeeeeeeeouch! why mom why? i've always been such a good boy. friendly to dogs and cats and people. whyyyyyyyyyyy? and you make me wear a lampshade on my head!!!! i'm embarassed at both ends! why do you hate me? you think you can fix it by making a fake picture of me at the beach.....didn't fool me. i know where i've been and it aint the beach. i don't ever want to go "bye" in the car ever again. ever! can i still play in the water? it'd probably feel really good to sit in some cold water in my swimming pool right about now!

I just looked thru the crack in the fence and saw my mom and little brother (Ratty) drive away. uhhhhhhnnnmmmmm! I think they forgot me and they'll be right back as soon as they notice me missing......... Well, where are they? I think I'm jealous. Except.... if they went to the mall/nordstroms. I'll have to sniff them really good when they come back so I can tell. If they went to nordstroms....haha! on you Ratty!!!!! borrrr-ingggg! I'm probably safe. My mom never really takes Ratty anywhere I would like to go. Ratty doesn't even want to walk on a leash - he wants to be carrrrrr-ieeeed! I tried that one last week and my skin mom screamed at me "get off me you big horse!" horse! like I wear a saddle or something! Next she'll be having Ratty wear a little "cowboy" costume and having him ride me or something! hah! wowboy! I better get back to reality.

Hiking

I want to go hiking. I hate this hot weather. Since it got hot out my mom hasn't taken me up to Eaton Canyon to hike and play in the stream. I hope winter comes soon so we can resume our "outings" (leave ratty at home with "kitty mommy" where he belongs) She drove me and ratty up to a new hiking place tonight "just to look!" Can you imagine all that way just to tease me? It did look cool up there tho.

uh oh... Mom was upset (a little) this afternoon. She had a friend over so I was all excited and she let me and Ratty in the house. I was happy to see her friend (a little) so I was running all over the house (she told me several times to calm down - but like I say - I was excited) and Kitty Mommy was sitting on top of the couch watching. Well mom had to leave the room for a minute and Kitty Mommy started to follow her? and wellllllll I sort of got more exciteder and chased Kitty Mommy across the room and WE knocked over one of mom's favorite home made chicken t-pots. It was Kitty Mommie's fault too!!! She shouldn't have moved!!! But I got yelled at the most - go figger! Then mom made me go outside and she went to work I hope she still likes me when she comes home tonight. I'll be on my best behavior from now on! No more chasing Kitty Mommy no matter how much Kitty Mommy tries to entice me.

Day 3.....

Yayyyyyyyyyy! I got officially invited to "GSD Big Boys". I'm affiliated. I can tell .... Ratty is a little jealous. Maybe they need to start a "Chihuahua's Little Boys" club or something, whatever - I don't get jealous of when he gets to go shopping with mom (yawn!). I'm so happy! I feel like celebrating by running thru the sprinklers!!! I feel....... changed somehow.... more mature, more important - taller - ya know?
