An Exciting Day

Today was an exciting day for me. I woke up in my condo as usual, and listened to the other dogs barking around me. It was just like any other day since I got here, even though I've only been here a few days. I really don't know what this place is - there's lots of dogs in here, and there are lots of cats in the next room. It's like a hotel or something.

Then, it all changed. Sometime after lunch, the lady in charge walked in with two other people and opened my condo door. I was free! I was going to run for the hills, but they stopped me, so I decided to see what would happen next.

They put something around my neck that made me choke if I ran too far, so I decided to just hang out with them for a while, and see what they were going to do. I heard one of them call it a "collar." I had one of them on before, but this one was nicer. There was a long string on the end of the collar that attached me to the new man. Wherever I went, he would follow. It was pretty interesting.

The new lady and man took me outside and let me sign a tree. After that, they put me in a big crate that all of us could fit inside. It was a magic crate because it could move! It was very strange. It moved for a very long time, and then we stopped in front of another place. All the time we were moving, I looked outside, and there were moving crates all around us. Not many of them had other dogs. I must be special.

We went inside the place where we finally stopped and there were some nice people in there who all said "Hello" to me. A lady said I was cute! One of the men took me back to another condo with glass walls. They said it was called "isolation." It's a pretty cool place, and nicer than my other condo, but for some reason, I'm all by myself. I don't know what happened to the other people with the moving crate. I suppose I will see them again sometime. I hope so.

The people here all call me "Max." I never really got called anything before, because in my old house, I just had a number. It' s neat having a name. I wonder what else they're going to give me?

The new man told me over and over not to worry, that everything was going to be fine. I am just going to be brave and see what happens next. I like adventures. This was a really exciting day. I wonder if they have food here?
