Ah! I just came back from a horrifying experience. Mom took me to this one place where there was this umbrella looking thing...and a big camera. She put me in my tuxedo, then set me on this weird chair and told me to stay put. Then this woman started squeaking this toy, and the instant I looked over at her, there was this big flash!!! =o Mom tricked me! She told me to behave, so I just laid down and put my butt towards the camera. ;) That'll show those people!

....But then Mom turned me back around! :/ I started to get the feeling that everyone was against me. So, I sat and looked at the camera for a while. I was SURE it was all done and over with, but that's when Mom brought my parka out of her bag! =o That started a whole new round of photos!!! So, I was thinking, surely this is the last picture...when Mom brought out my "Size Doesn't Matter" t-shirt!!!! I wasn't going to put up with that, so I sprinted off the seat and down the hall. Mom was really embarrassed. She grabbed me and I decided to amuse her by sitting there while those humans took pictures of me.

Mom says that Daisy's going to get her pictures done next Tuesday.... I have to warn her!

The lady said that my proofs should be done by the time Daisy comes in for her photoshoot. They'd better be good....considering how long and torturous that experience was.

...The moral of this story is that when your Mommy plucks you out of your comfy doggie bed, puts your favorite outfit on, and takes you to a building with a strange umbrella looking thing set up....RUN!!!

Me...a Model?

The excitement still hasn't left Mom yet. Earlier today, Mom opened up her emails and saw an email titled, "K9 Cruise." Mom had entered Daisy, Chii, and I all to be models for clothing at the Canine Cruise in New York this summer. Mom was very hopeful, but knew not to get her hopes up too high. After all, the three of us were competing against who-knows-how-many dogs, many of which are professional models from NYC.

Anyhow, she opened up the email and saw that it was from an Ada in New York City. She thought, "NO WAY!" Then she read that Ada had chosen me to model some of her clothing.

Mom could not believe her eyes. She literally jumped out of her seat and screamed. After all, we don't exactly having "doggie modeling agencies" her in Kansas. This is a once and a lifetime opportunity.

So, Mom called Ada up and told her my measurements. We're going to meet her the night before the cruise. I barked at Ada, giving her my thank you. Ada told me that I'm very handsome.

Mom's a bit disappointed that Chii and Daisy aren't going to join in on the fun with me. But hey, a guy can't help it if he's good looking.

Wish me luck, everypup!

Leg Problem...Wish Me Luck

:( Well, some of you may know this, and some may not, but I've been having issues with my leg lately. Mom's been really worried. I won't put any weight on my back-left leg, and I scream whenever anyone touches it. Mom and Grandma took me to get x-rayed a few weeks back, and the vet said that I have a problem where my femur doesn't connect to my joint correctly. We were really hoping that anti-inflammatory and pain meds would take care of the problem, but my leg has only gotten worse the past month....leaving Mom and Grandma with two options. They either have to get me operated on to fix the problem, or leave it as it is, where it will gradually get worse and more painful. At the moment, I'm scheduled to go up to Kansas State University Tuesday to get my leg operated on (I'll even be in on a study for this problem, so Mom and Grandma are getting it done for half price, just as long as the data collected is used to benefit the Veterinary profession). They're very worried, though. Last time they sent a dog into surgery, she didn't come back alive (her name was Lilly...Mom wishes she could add her to Dogster, but they'd only had her for five days, and didn't get any pictures of her. She was a red Min Pin. Mom's best explanation of how she looked was that she greatly resembled Daisy, except her ears stood up (they weren't cropped), she was a bit smaller, and had a more "harsh" look to her).

They're going to completely take off part of my femur. :o According the the vet, it really isn't as major of a thing as it sounds, and I should be running around with all my energy in three to four weeks, judging by my size. Mom's still biting her fingernails in worry though... I'll have to be up at K-State for two or three days. Mom's never been separated from me before, let alone separated while I have surgery. :( She can't stay with me, since K-State is about an hour and a half away from our town, Wichita, and she doesn't have the time needed to get my siblings boarded as well as reserve a motel room.

So...wish me luck, please? Mom's scared out of her mind, especially after what happened to Lilly. BOL. I sure hope my leg feels better when I get done with all this. Hopefully I'll feel great for my birthday, which is in nine days, on Cinco de Mayo. XD
