Hi, my name is Swade and I'm a 5 year old English Setter. Here's my story. I lived in a shelter in Illinois with a wonderful Austrailian woman named Sunshine. I lived there about a year. No one knows or remembers what happened to me before that. People say I may have been hit by a car when I was younger, because my hips are stiff when I walk. Sunshine thought I was a Welsh Springer Spaniel and had listed me as one on petfinder.com. Well there is this really cool rescue group called Another Chance for English Setters and they could tell by my picture that I was not a springer spaniel!
So a very nice lady named Trish drove from St. Louis to Illinois to pick me up. You see, my shelter owner, Sunshine, got sick and needed to go back to Australia for treatment. She couldn't keep me any longer. She was so grateful that Trish came to get me. I soon became Trish's foster boy at her home in St. Louis. I had two foster sisters and two foster brothers that I loved to play with.
One day these people named Jana & Aaron came to visit me in St. Louis. You see, Trish is Jana's step-mom. Aaron and Jana fell in love with me during their visit. They decided to adopt me!
Three weeks later I got in a bunch of cars in a row with no idea where I was going. But in the last car were Jana & Aaron. They took me to my new home in New York and I met my furever brother Rafiki. I sure have fun playing tug and fetch and staring down birds. I am a happy boy!
