Arrival Story:
When Alex and I first started seeing each other in October of 2004, he told me a terrible story of a time when his house was broken into and all of his belongings as well as his 16 week old Pit Bull puppy, "Roxy", were stolen from inside while he was at work one day. Alex and the police were never able to find the perpetrators nor his little girl.
I went to our local animal shelter the very next week with a friend and found a one-year-old, shaky, scared, underweight, blue and white Pit Bull Terrier. The name the shelter had given him was "Riley" and he never stopped trying to give me kisses through the chain-link fence. He was scheduled to be put down in three days. I fell in love at first sight. I brought Alex to see him the next day and we couldn't leave without him. He came home with us that very afternoon. We decided to name him "Rocky" in memory of "Roxy". He is now 4 1/2 years old and has a little Boxer mix bother named "Bear" with whom he romps, plays with and loves dearly.
