Well guys-here I am approaching 2 weeks-and here is the scoop
1. Mom wants u all to know it does get better
2. I actually sleep at nite- 1 nite I slept all nite in my lil pack and play- no crying- well a lil murmur
3. If u end up w/this surgery mom says u must get some guidance from a pro- we did from the greatest Patti T> Dogs in Motion-look her up if u r in ILL. even if u r not- she is an experienced dedicated therapist for dogs!!!
4. The expressing the bladder thing takes forever- either my mom is stupid- or my lil bladder is way under my ribs somewhere- ask ???? The pee thing is worse than the surgery - really it was makin mom crazy-now I happily pee a long doxie stream- w/ her help:)
5. U may b able to use a diaper to catch the dribble till your legs work again...
6. Mom says it helps that her friends ask about me- dogs- kids- parents - all the same..
7. Mom and Daddy were crazy at first trying to learn how to take care of me but i saw them smooch- ah love.
8. Carry us doxies w/ support of the lower back too at all times- not all day, mom says I need rest time in my cage or pack n/ play
Well kids sleep well, eat well, drink well - and stay LOOOONNNGGGG- fellow doxies, stay LONG!!! ZZZZZZZ SDO

Hey guys I am looong on more info- mom/daddy are taking great care of me!!! I have actually stood up outside ( for a second or 2) and I bark, eat, and give kisses-mom says FINALLY!!!!
More tips as we weenies recover from back surgery-from mom.
1.plan on planning your first few days around the doxies schedule, seems to work for us in this order:wake up pick up doxie ( get pee pee on your clothes so do not dress for work yet ) time for yummy foods and secret pills in p-butter or what your doxie is used too, treats as usual
2. If u have another pet I try to leave the recovering one by the door to see us go out- may help or NOT!!!
3. Now time for therapy of those darling lil legs and ice if that is what your vet has suggested.
4. Time to clean up pee pee -or poooie louies that slide out w/ out the doxie even knowing one bit
5. Have some wood floor cleaner near the spot wher u exercise those legs- and have towels underneath if u are having the doxie lay down on his back:)
6.Now the doxie is exhausted and u have time to clean up the kitchen, or get dressed and zippp off to work- Love and Licks SDO and the new doxie nurse!!!

Here i am just 5 and whoa boy THE SURGERY GOT ME!!!!
Just to help others one day here are a few tips- really good ones says mom
1.Go rt. to a surgeon after the vet if the back legs go under- like go really fast!!!!
2.When your pawrents leave u for the surgery send your mom to the baby store- get a pack and play, get baby wipes, get some washable diapers, maybe a new furry blankie or 2 or 3 or 4- or lil pillows and lottsa laundry soap!!!!
3. Be prepared not to let your pawrents sleep much the first few nites home- they will be on your doggi schedule oh yes they will!!!
4. Do not let your hoomans be scared if u do not drink at first or eat- u probably had lottsa IV fluids during your vet visit and it may be ok- I actually ate and drank the second day I got home
5. Tell your mom to boil up some lean clean chicken- no spices for u to eat- nice and plain
6. Tell your parents to set up a schedule so someone is home a lot the first few days as us manly doxies will whine and lay in a lil pee pee till u help move us- remember our back legs may be there but after surgery some of us do not know they exist!!!!!
