When my humans leave. Other dogs, especially German shepards since one tried to eat me. I hate when the mailman puts the mail in the door slot. An empty food bowl. Doggie toothpaste (YUK!). Not getting belly rubs or being paid attention to.

Favorite Walk:
I like Bergen Ave in Jersey City because it is a veritible smorgasboard of doggie street eating delight until mom takes what I find out of my mouth. I also liked going to Old Town Alexandria, VA because lots of nice people pet me and gave me treats.
Best Tricks:
The backwards stare. The sad and pathetic I'm starvin over here/rub my belly look. Her Elvis face. The Snoopy dance I get whenever I come home. Teaching mom how to fetch.
Arrival Story:
I went to my uncle's firehouse when I was about five and fell in love with the dalmatian they had adopted and ever since then I wanted one of my own. Fast forward 21 years and my boyfriend got Darby for me as a gift. She is the best present I have ever received.
Bio:
Mom says I'm a wonder dog because it's a wonder I really haven't hurt myself yet. I have problems walking on linoleum and wood floors and consistently fall. Mom says I look like I am trying to ice skate. At our old house in Virginia I used to like to run down the hallway and then slide on the kitchen rugs into the door. I almost had to get a crash helmet because mom was afraid I'd suffer brain damage. She decided to take the rugs up instead. I also have problems with stairs sometimes because I have a pin in my leg.
I fell down the stairs when she first got me because the lady who had me didn't treat the ear infection I had. I ended up breaking my hip and mom had to nurse me back to health. I've also hurt my tail, the pads of my paws, had colitis and ear infections several times, what mom calls the skin ick, almost choked to death on a hot dog I stole and tried to swallow whole and I've managed to scratch my eye. My mom has become really good at doggie first aid and gives me supplements so my bad leg doesn't bother me too much. She also knows the dog heimlich maneuver which came in handy during the hot dog incident.
As far as humans go, I like the majority of them, especially the little ones because they smell good and love to pet me. It doesn't hurt that occasionally I get a lick of an ice cream cone or a bite of PB & J.
I live with a Cat named Sam now who likes to hiss at me and swat me with her paws. I guess she doesn't like me smelling her too much. I just want to to see if she smells like a nice loaf of Italian bread or perhaps chicken. Every once in a while I chase her around the house to let her know who is boss, but mom intervenes and says something to me about loving the kitty and not gnawing on the kitty. I don't want to gnaw on the kitty, just smell her. Sometimes I feel so misunderstood.
I have a great life and get lots of love. Mom says I've been to more states than most people. I was born in Kentucky, then moved to Virginia, followed by Maryland, then back to Virginia, followed by New Jersey and now we live in Sin City. I drove with her out to Las Vegas. Actually, I slept on my big cushion in the back seat most of the time, I wanted to drive but she kept saying my medicine said I couldn't drive or operate heavy machinery and something else about not having opposable thumbs.
