A Real Working Dog..hehehe

Mommy thought while she was updating Shelly's diary, she would update mine too!

My Mommy has gone back to work, and I get to go with her!!! There are lots of people there, and they always tell Mom how hard it is not to pet me. Mommy did give the ok for greatings in the morning before she sits down at her desk, and I soak it up!! I have my own space at Mommy's desk, and she brought me my crate pad (funny thing...I don't have a crate) and a comfy blanket for me to sleep on during the day. Oh she keeps lots of yummy treats for me at her desk just for me!! I think the only thing I don't like, is that I have to have a bath every weekend :( As usual, I stand there and let Mommy scrub good, but I sure don't like it, especially when she washes my face! Oh well, I guess it is just a part of being a working dog.

Well, my Mommy's Boy had his Birfday party...there were a LOT of people!!! I couldn't believe how many of them were afraid of me!! Mommy kept me close to her, so that I would work and keep people from coming too close. Several times I had to get her attention to redirect her. She gave me lots of hugs and treats when everyone left, she said that I did such a good job and that she was very proud of me!!! We spent some special time cuddling in the big chair, I think she still needed me, cause I'm not usually allowed on the furniture!!!

Getting Ready for a Party

Woof...Woof!!! It has been a long time since my Mommy has had time to update my journal for me. Things have been really busy, getting ready for the Winter, and now for my Boy's 3rd Birthday Party!! There has been a lot of hustle and bustle this week. Oh...Mommy is going back to work, and says that I will have to be on my very bestest behavior. I have never let her down in the past and I'm not going to now!! She says that there is someone in the new office that is afraid of dogs, can you imagine...being afraid of MEEE I just don't understand...I'll keep you posted on how this all turns out!!

My Birfday Today!!!

I can't wait!!! Mommy said that today is a very special day!! She says that I'm 2 years old today!! She said that we are going to go to the doggy store so that I can pick out a new toy, and then we will hit the dog park for some play time!! I can't wait!!!

Busy Day

Mommy decided that she wanted to go to something called the "Made in NH Expo" on Sunday. Boy was that a lot of people to wiggle through!! I had a lot of people petting me, even though there is a big sign on me that says "Working Do Not Pet" I started to get grumpy at the end!! Why can't people read!! I have a job to do, and with everyone petting me, it was hard. Mommy gave me goodies when we got home, and cuddled with me on the chair. I got a big bone and a pig ear!! I was sooo happy!!! Then she took me up for a nice warm bath, I like it when she fills up the tub with warm water so that I can lay in it. Today was not eventful, it is raining and cold so we just stayed indoors. Mommy did mention going to the store this week for Easter goodies...hmm...wonder what the Easter Bunny will bring me. This is my first Easter with Mommy, so I don't know what to expect. I'll have to let everyone know!!!

3-23-07 Play Date!!

Hi Everyone!!

My Mommy sent me yesterday with Frank and his Mommy to a play date at K9 Country!! We had sooooo much fun, running and playing in the mud. We did meet a bully at the park that kept wanting to bite us :( he did bite my friend Bella, and left some really bad puncture wounds on her face. Mommy says that I can't play when that dog is around anymore, she says that that doggy is too mean. I spent the day getting muddy and romping with friends, could life get any better? Mommy is going to post some pictures!!

Ok...So Mommy has been tooo busy to type for me :( She has been spending a lot of time on her favorite site called BigDogsPorch. She has lots of friends there, and several are here on dogster!!! But she just can't seem to find time to translate for me. I'm getting on, we are busy running here and there with little rest. Mommy is teaching me new tasks all the time, some I don't mind but others I really really dislike!! I know that I have to learn them so that I can continue to help Mommy, but it can be very difficult!! Mommy did take the time this morning to add some new pup pals for me!! Yeaaa...I love my pup pals!!!

I passed!!

Mommy took me to a park yesterday that was filled with all kinds of dogs!!!! There were booths with displays, and demonstrations going on. We went to a small ring and a woman asked us to do several things. The last thing was to have Mommy leave me with the woman!!! Mommy put me in a down stay and just walked away, it seemed like forever!!! When she came back, the woman said that all dogs should do so well!!! Mommy was very pleased and kept hugging me telling me how good I did...She called is a CGC test, and I passed!!! Mommy gave me lots of attention and praise!!! Later in the day, my friend Lily and her Mommy and Briar and his Mommy came over. They have this funny idea that I want to become a retriever!!! LOL...Anyways, we played for some time and practice me taking things in my mouth...Mom says that I have a long way to go...Well, I'm still worn out from yesterday, so I'm going to lay down again...

We went out again to the pet store today, Mommy had to buy me some special shampoo, she says that I'm itching too much. I saw that strangest thing there!!! It didn't have any legs and wrapped itself around its handlers arm, when she put it up to my nose, it kept flicking its tongue in and out on my nose!!! I think it was kissing me!!! Mommy laughed when I tried to kiss it back...

Mommy made some modifications to my harness, she added a pack to it so that I can carry things for her. She is going to put some patches on it too she says!!!

OOOO She said that there is a test that I have to take at the end of this month!!! She has been working really hard on some things with me, she says that I'm doing really well, and should pass it with flying colors and she said that she will have a special patch made for my pack too!!! I'm sooo excited!!!

That is about all for now..I hope that all my pals are well!!!

Seafood Festival

I have to share our day yesterday with everyone. As a family we went to the Seafood Festival, this is held at Hampton beach, NH. My Mommy went once several years (5) ago, but she couldn't get out of the car when she got there. She saw all the different people, and she was done. This time was DIFFERENT!!! We got a parking spot and started walking toward the event, once we rounded the corner to the gate, it was wall to wall people. Mommy, Mathai and myself waited while Daddy got us passes and away we went. I know IMMEDIATLY that I had to make some changes. I went from walking tight at my Mom's side to walking at an angle, my head in and my bumm out!! I can't tell you how many people bumped into me, but I just kept right on going, making sure that everyone kept their distance from Mom, bumping me and not her. We would stop and I would look around at people as if to say, "I'm here so you will keep your distance", I'm not saying I was aggressive, but I had taken a very dominant attitude. There were the usual unkind comments about my Mom not looking handicap, along with the people who would want to come and pet me. Mom found it funny when we would stop and I would turn myself away from someone reaching out to pet me.

This was the first huge crowd that Mom has asked me to maneuver through, and she said that I did a phenomenal job!! And that she couldn't have walked through the mass of people without me!!
