My elderly Westie, Morag, passed away in the October of 2002, after battling several chronic illnesses.
After a while, I picked myself up enough to think about donating her stuff to the local RSPCA in Halewood. So, I took her plastic bed, her blanket and her special dietary dogfood (in case any sick doggies could use it - I used to buy it in bulk). My daughter, who was nearly three at this time, accompanied me.
As I handed the stuff over, Gabs toddled off to the dog kennels and fell in love with a little black-and-white puppy-dog face looking through the bars. This was Barney, who had apparently been abandoned close to a major road (who could do that to a puppy?).
After filling in the documentation, and a delay due to a bout of kennel cough, Barney finally came home with us.
Bio:
He's the only dog I know with a built in pogo stick. Barney is also very, very affectionate.

Yesterday, little Gabs brought home two of her friends to stay for a few days. Last night went really well. Gabs, Josie, Marcie & Mum did some cooking. First, they made some bread. Then Mum started making apple and blackberry pie. Last, Gabs, Josie and Marcie made chocolate cake. The great bit is...they left food on MY bed. All for me.
