Hi Pup pals- sorry for taking so dogone long to blog on here. It's been a lot of work teaching my mom all the different walking trails in the area but i think she is getting the hang of it- although she still seems to need to take me along. No worries though, fur buds, i make sure she is leashed by the hand so she doesn't get lost;)

Anywag, so i'm writing to tell you about how awesome today was! My mom is starting her first internship next week and she said i would start going to a DAYCARE near her site so we could ride to and from her work together (seriously, she can't get enough of me!). So today i got to visit the place for the first time and it was soooo fun! There were up and downie things (mom told me they were called 'ramps') and tunnels and other adventure place stuff mom said are part of 'agility class,' whatever that is. I had to take a temperament test- whiched i passed- as if there were any doubt- and then i got to stay for seven hours to play with all the other dogs there. Awesommme! I ran around the whole time and was the fastest of them all=)

Fellow puppies, while i don't fully understand why the humans decide to send us to daycare, i must urge you to campaign for it if you haven't already had the opportunity. And now, i collapse, because i'm so so so so sleeeeeepy.....

Hi Pup pals,

I regret my long absence, but don't think i haven't had you all on my mind! I have gone on woodsy adventures and thought of you. I have made yummy doggy biscuits with my owner and thought of you. I have chased cats around the neighborhood (Dog Pride!) and thought of you. In conclusion, you have all been on my minds and i hope you had a woofy merry christmas!

love,
Chandler

Hi pawed pals-

It is times like these that i become so grateful for Dogster. I know I can come here, pour out my heart, and have a furry cyber-audience that will listen and understand my sentiments completely. To that, i say thank you. Thank you woofy much.

It finally feels like fall and all the leaves have changed colors. I was born this time last year and so all the leaves were already on the ground when my owner and i began walking on that 'leash' thing. But this year, i've SEEN the leaves change colors with my own eyes. I love it when they fall to the ground and the wind blows them. My owner tells me they are just leaves, but i know they are really little animals whom i must chase and capture. My favorite thing is to bury myself amidst a big pile of these leafy things and then wait for a foolish chipmunk to saunter by so that i can attack. Guerrilla warfare! Woof woof woof!

Beyond that, life is good. One of my best pup friends had a bday party at a dog spa a few weeks ago and i stuffed my face with cake. I got to be Dogzilla for Halloween this past week, and Saturday, my owner says she is taking me to a new place for hiking. I"m so excited. Life is good in da' hood;)

How are the rest of you all?

P.U.P.S. Unite: Entry 3

Please note: if you have not read P.U.P.S. Unite entries 1 and 2, go there first or you may be lost here:)

Hiyas pup brothers and sisters, Thank you woofy much for your support in our cause to promote puppy freedom and equal rights with the human species. I have both good news and troubling news. Let us begin with the good!

The Good News: I believe my own tactics of demonstrating insane hyperness around my dog owner has succesfully led her to taking me to the dog park more and more often. Best of all, she has started taking me to a cool, new dog park called Brook Run where i get to jump over logs, run through woods, and best of all, connect with other puppies and dog-elders to share the message of P.U.P.S. Unite. I love Brook Run because i even get to swim in the creek if i give my owner the good ol' puppy eyes routine (which works every time!). If you haven't yet trained your owner to take you to the dog park, i recommend running around the house like crazy and incessantly bopping your owner with toys until they relent and take you to the park. Trust me, it's definetly worth the effort!

The Troubling News: As Halloween approaches, I've begun reading more and more posts about dogs being forced into froo-froo, lacy, humiliating costumes all for the amusement of their human owners. Now I ask you, is it right that many of our human owners ask us to be tough and guard or protect the house and then suddenly, on October 31st, put us in a chicken suit or hotdog outfit?! How confusing, nay , how EMBARASSING that is! We should not allow this to continue!

I suggest that if you and your owner are at the pet store, you do not let him or her get any where near the pet costume rack or you are surely doomed to the same humiliating fate that I have witnessed many dogs experience already. Now, if you have a hi-tech owner who plans to order your costume online, then you better start nawing at the computer cords now and hopefully they won't be able to sign online and buy your costume before Halloween comes.

And lastly, if you MUST wear a costume for whatever reason, I beg you fellow fur brothers and sisters, let it at least be a good one. Don't go as a ballerina or some farmyard animal. At least pick something intimidating so that you might scare some kiddies into giving you their candy come Halloween. Just be sure not to eat the chocolate candies.

Take care and keep me posted on your personal success stories.

Chandler

My mom made that collage
and wrote me the poem below!

"LITTLE PAWS"
Dedicated to my furry baby, Chandler

Little paws stretching,
... stretching on my bed.
Little paws grasping,
... grasping tiny treats.
Little paws pouncing,
... pouncing in the grass,
Litte paws prancing,
... little heartbeat at my feet.

This is a special Tail of Devotion

P.U.P.S. Unite! Entry #2

I write this entry today, pup brothers and sisters, with lake-wet paws and stinky breathe.... it's just heavenly.

This morning, my owner surprised me with a trip to Emory University's woods. I've never been there before, and even though i had to keep stopping to let my owner flick sand out of her shoes (Note: humans cannot tolerate sand against their skin- we must remember this for when dogs take over the world!), I got to sniff around and taste every stick, stone, and bug. Best of all, I went wading in the water! My owner thought it was cute to see me paddling out farther and farther from the sandy shore- in truth, i was testing the strength of the leash contraption when wet. It is with dissapointment, fellow puppies, that i must tell you that the leash stays strong even after splashing it continuously with water.

In any case, I got to go exploring EVERYWHERE. But then, after an hour and a half, my owner decided it was time to go, and i was just getting started having fun.

Side note: isn't it interesting that in the morning when we puppies are ready to arise and start our day, our owners hide in their beds, BUT THEN, when we are out playing and romping in the woods, owners are in some big hurry and can't stay there all day. The dichotomy of it all! I say we stockpile the sand collected on our paws from outside, and then put the sand in their beds in the morning when we want them to get up (see sand note earlier on in entry); that will get them out of bed in the morning! However, I still do not know how to get my owner to STAY when we are out playing. Any suggestions?

So that has been my day thusfar. My owner bought me some delicious organic wet food as a treat and now when i give people kisses, it smells like chicken and rice. Mmmmm. Those are the best kinds of kisses.

Paws and puppy licks,
Chandler

Fellow Pawed Friends:

It has come to my attention that despite generations and generations of our fidelity to our human companions, we continue to be viewed as 'lower creatures' in society, doomed to submit to the human species unquestioningly. While I myself am quite in love with my human owner, I have begun working up a plan to increase my standing in the family, and soon,... the world. Below you will find some tips that I strongly urge you to consider. Join P.U.P.S. (Puppies Usurping People Status) Unite. We are revolutionary fighters- do this not just for yourself but for all pupkind!

1) Leashes: They are ridiculous! I think my owner is worried she won't find her way home unless she attaches herself to me. While it is good that the humankind remain relient on our keen sense of direction, I highly recommend weaving in and out of their legs a few times. Not only does this augment their confusion and lack of orientation, but sometimes you can trip them once tangled up in the leash! Now who is the "lower species?!"

2) Dog food: Seriously, who makes this dry cereal stuff? It is awful! While most humans consider it unhealthy for us to eat 'human food,' be assured it is only because they want to save the good stuff for themselves. My suggestion? Distraction is key. Wait for the right moment (a superbowl game, a friend at the door, family bickering...etc) and you can usually sneak your way into a cupboard where they stash the goods. But please pups- stay away from the chocolate!

3) Crates: Perhaps this scene is familiar to you: You are playing with your owner, entertaining him or her, having a good time,... and then woosh! They throw you in the slammer and then go out for fun on their own. What is up with the bars and tight quarters, fellow Pups?! As of now, I have no final plans set up, however, Pavlov (our pup brethren in Arizona) is working on learning how to move the latches back and forth so that we might free ourselves from these impossible crates!

I will be in touch with you all again soon. Till then, pawed friends, stay the course..... and i'm serious, don't try eating chocolate.

Paws and puppy licks,
Chandler

Welcome to my corner of webspace

Greetings fellow puppies, dogs, and owners. It has taken me 11 months to master typing on the keyboard (i have tiny paws), but as I have finally set up my dogster account, I am very excited to find yet one more outlet to express myself. My owner is ecstatic as well and prefers me keeping a diary rather than resorting to 'other' ways I used to express myself before being potty trained.

Today was quite fabulous, as I have my owner wrapped around my paw;) I woke up and sat on my owner's face till she promptly woke up and gave me a fifteen minute massage. I then let my owner take me for walk at a super cool park where I get to chase and terrorize these non-dog animals my owner calls "ducks." I really don't understand 'ducks' that much, but I do enjoy sending them off scurrying into the lake. After the park, my owner gave me another massage, and I took a nap.

By evening time, I was full of energy once more and got to go to the dogpark. There were lots of sticks. I ate them. There were lots of mushrooms. I ate them. And there was a moderate amount of poop on the ground,... but my owner caught me before I got to have a full sampling. No fair!

Well, so here's my great webpage,... not that i'm territorial or anything,... and I hope you come and visit with me some more.

Paws and puppy licks,
Chandler
