Arrival Story: It all started because my son was going to training with the Army for his 3rd assignment to the Middle East. His roommates were going to care for Pijau - (Chip's mother). We too are active duty military - and we had a change of station to Arkansas. We had a van load - our dog, 2 cats, and our parrot. One of our cats (age 17 years) died when we arrived at our son's house. His roommates wanted to know if I was there to pick up his two dogs, because they were moving out! We couldn't take both, so I agreed to take the female - she was still a pup, and _very_ submissive. Well - that's how we ended up with the mother dog. Our dog - a neutered male, was very social with all animals. (Another page to come on him!) Then, our friends were going to move to Arkansas from Japan. They decided to adopt a dog that had been offered on http//www.freecycle.org. So - they asked us if we would watch their cocker spaniel until they arrived from Japan. Well - my son did not want his pit bull spayed, and apparently the cocker spaniel had not been neutered....so on 9 March we ended up with an additional 7 puppies! Chip was the last born of the litter, and I had to help his mother, because she was pretty tired by then. But, she did a great job, once I freed him from the sack. We decided to keep Chip, as well as his brother Coco. (Another page on him to come as well.) So far, we have only been able to place two of the litter in good homes. I have a 'policy' that if the placement does not work out - bring the dog back to me! So - we thought we had 3 place, but 1 ended up coming back.

Bio: My human-mommy is planning my neutering...!
I got to be inside the human-house longer today 20 Aug 06 than ever before!
Mommy had me, and my brothers all neutered on the 14th of Dec 2006! Miracle Max got neutered on the 13th of Dec 2006. Watch out guys - Mommy's on a 'snip-snip mission'!
We've moved! From Arkansas to Idaho!

Anyway, our human "Daddy" decided that 'home, friends and family' were no longer a priority for him, so "Mom", Uncle Hank, Bastet and our human brother "Roo" and I have ended up moving to Idaho from Arkansas for the time being. Wow! I'll have to REALLY update my diary!!!
Anyway, Arkansas gets cold in the winter time - and we even have had a few days, when a _LITTLE_ of that cold white stuff landed in our yard. But - it never got very thick, and never lasted very long.
But here!?! I'm not so sure about this stuff! Mom laughed so hard at me - but I didn't care! I was so excited - it was time for our morning 'business break'. So, I bounded OUT the back door - all of about two steps, did a mid-air spin, and bounded back IN - and I don't think I even touched that cold white stuff on the return trip!
Uncle Hank thinks I'm 'silly' - but hey!!! I know where it is warm AND soft!!! (The bedroom, by Mom's bed, on our nice red quilt - and me covered with said quilt as much as possible!) Mom has been looking for doggy coats for me, and Uncle Hank. I am very short haired, and Mom has noticed that I am 'hairless' in several areas, of my anatomy!
Plus - and I know I posted this on one of the boards, I had also managed to break a toe nail - and it's given me quite a fit, though Mom says I have been a 'perfect gentleman, and perfect patient'. But, what with my sore paw - I really don't like it to get so cold and wet!
As I mentioned above - Mom has been looking for doggy coats for us - and maybe even some paw mittens or something. She can't seem to find any in both our size, and 'price range' (whatever THAT is). So, she's looking into making us some!
Uncle Hank thinks that cold white stuff is quite fun to play in - and will chase around in it, and wants to actually _play_!!! Not me!!! I hope it goes away soon! I do not like it. I will wait until this situation changes before I go out to do any 'business'! (Though Mom insists that I go out a few times a day to 'take care of business'.) She's even wanting to find out if it is possible for me to use that white chair/water bowl thing where all the water is, here in the house! You know - the one she won't allow me to drink out of!
If Mom makes me a warm coat and paw covers, I'll have her take my pic and post it!
Woof! I don't like snow! I don't like snow! I don't like snow!
