Likes: Jasper loves kittens and dog-friendly cats, the dog park, raw food(or any food, really), chasing small animals, lounging on the couch, and he loves going to the drive-ins to share his dad's nachos! He also loves to denude tennis balls.
Pet-Peeves: Sprinklers, being left alone, the vacuum (which he has informed me is actually a very dangerous monster) and our pet snakes.
Favorite Toy: STUFFIES! Fortunately, he doesn't destroy ALL of his stuffies, but many of them wind up gutted all over the carpet. He likes squeaky stuffies, but the squeakers don't last too long!
Favorite Food: Any raw meat! He especially seems to relish foods that take him a long time to eat, like pork neck bones. He's also very fond of liver and chicken hearts, which makes it easy to disguise any pills he has to take.
Favorite Walk: We walk over by a lake near our home. There's a dog park for him to go and play with his doggy friends, and there's also a trail that runs at least ten miles along a creek, and he LOVES chasing squirrels on the trail!
Best Tricks: All right, I'll admit ehre that I haven't spent much time with him on "tricks", but I think his best "trick" is his gentleness with foster kittens and cats. He's always supervised with them of course, but he has never been too rough with a kitten.
Arrival Story: My mom had been looking for "the" dog for over a year, but my dad wasn't convinced that a dog could be happy in their little apartment. I was running around on the streets and was captured by some people who put me in a big cage near a bunch of other dogs in the shelter. I didn't like it there, and after a few days I didn't feel so good.
One day my mom came by and looked at me. I knew she was the one to take me out of there, so to get her attention I picked up a toy and threw it at her! I didn't think it worked at first because she left, but it DID work, because she came back a few days later. When the shelter volunteer took us into the introductions room, I leaped into her lap on the couch. It worked, she took me home! I had some yucky kennel cough at first, but once that was gone I showed her how energetic I could really be! I do some awesome zoomies, it always makes my mom laugh!
I am my mom's first dog, but Star and Wilbur are like my brother and sister because they live with mom's paw-rents and I get to hang out with them a lot!

I've Been On Dogster Since:
Today me an' Mom went to the dog park for three and a half hours! I was sooo tired after that!
Mom said she didn't want to leave me home by myself tonight, plus she felt bad that I had kibble for dinner because she forgot to thaw out some meat for me. So she took me to meet Dad at a drive-in movie. I've never done anything like it before. We all sat in the car, and ate yummy nachos. I met a very friendly pit bull named "Azul". We played a little bit, then I went back in the car.
Mom said Dad is really starting to fall for me, and it must be true, because he put me on his lap and held me for half the movie, then he kissed my head before he put me down!
Nachos, new friends, and lovins from Dad....the drive-ins are awesome!
Yesterday Mommy and I walked almost wight miles! We walked to the dog park first, and I played for awhile. Then we walked down the trail to visit my friend Daisy. We walked with Daisy for half an hour or so, then walked back to the dog park where I played MORE! It was so much fun! There was a teeny poodly whose fur tasted really realy good! Mom laughed at me for sucking on it, but I think this dog's mom must have bathed her in beef broth or something!
After that we walked back home. Mommy was more tired that me, I think. She had to "run errands" later, and when she came home she fell asleep without giving me my dinner! I woke her up though, and she remembered dinner, so it wasn't a total loss. When I woke up this morning though, I was very sore! Mommy says it's good that I've been stretching a lot, and we're going to go for a shorter walk today because she is sore too.
Last night Mommy took me to a paw-tee for her cousin's birthday. My friend Daisy was there and I made a new friend, Levi. We played and played and played for HOURS! Then we went inside because we were getting tired.
All the humans started playing a game, and then one of then went and put out the birthday cake! Yummy! The other humans weren't paying attention, and that yummy cake was sitting there with nobody to eat it! So I grabbed the tablecloth and pulled until the cake came down!
Once that was done, I jumped on the cake and started eating it. Suddenly, all the humans were yelling and waving their arms and making such a fuss! What, I didn't eat much of it!! When I looked at Mommy she looked like she was gonna cry, so I went over to her to share some of the cake that was stuck to me so she would feel better. She picked me up and threw me outside!! Why?!
Daisy and Levi helped me get all the cake offa myself, but the humans said I had to stay outside because I was "sticky".
