Oh no!

For four months I stayed with Michelle and John and ate good food. None of this freeze-dried raw crap that mom feeds me. Well, she found the unopened box of Honest Kitchen, and she gave it to me again today. Phew! I didn't eat it. I ate the pellets around the yucky raw food, BOL! Then I heard her say to someone that it doesn't matter whether I like it or not. It is good for me, and that's what I will get. Humph! I think I have to cart this bag of yucky food out to the garbage. Can someone help me?

My friend Demon writes about an old Egyptian dog called Gahiji. When I first heard the name Gahiji, I thought he was a cartoon character. BOL! But it is a great story. I love the way he writes. He has bunches of humor!!!

It is raining again, blah! Mom promised to take me to the coast if the weather was nice. I hear that next weekend will be nice but can you believe the weather folks? I wonder why these guys never lose their jobs. They are never right. BOL! I go without my rain gear, and blah, it is raining! No snow here though, and I cannot play in it like my East coast pals!

Mom was away for four months and I was with Michelle and John. They took me hiking and camping. Lots of fun. I was a happy corgi! Check out my pictures on the Oregon buttes. Mom will again travel, but I hope not for such a long time. She needs to retire and take care of me!

Vroom, Vroom...

I have a new car called the Raja Mobile. P.Nutty made it for me. I love it very much. I look so cute in it. I think I can drive all the way to doggy heaven and see my big brother Raja. Last night Mom and I watched the stars in the sky. It is very difficult to see stars here because our skies are overcast in the Pacific Northwest. But it was a clear night and we saw a shooting star...That was Raja zooming thru the skies in the way only he knew how...That amazing brother of mine is in the sky...

The cat Poka has been acting odd lately. She sits in Raja's porch and suns herself. The porch was Raja''s tanning booth. When I was getting fed this morning, she came and stood near my bowl. She has even started eating Mom's food. If Mom leaves her plate on the counter, Poka gets up and tries to lick it. The top dog is Poka the cat. I am OK with that. I am just a little corgi. I donlt like conflict. Just my food, ball and my Mom!

I was not around when 9/11 occurred but my Mom tells me it is the day that dogs cried...We pray for those who lost loved ones on that day, we pray for the ones who lost their lives, and we pray that such a horrendous event never again happens anywhere in this world!

Peace and blessings!

Alsea Falls Visit

Today Mom took me to Alsea falls. Alsea Falls is about 23 miles from Eugene located in the Coastal Ranges. We drove through the semi-ghostly Coastal Range forest where the sun doesn't reach through the towering Douglas Firs. Mom calls it the Hansel and Gretel Forest--mysterious, dark and moody. Mom is trying very hard to make me feel happy. I know how much she misses Raja Babu. But she is trying very hard for my sake. Mom wants me to be my perky corgi self!

When we reached Alsea Falls, we walked through the Forest primeval. We sat and watched the babbling Alsea river and the falls. Then we thanked Gaia for all the beauty we witnessed, and thankfulness for all we have. Mom tells me that we have a lot compared to many people in this world. See, Mom just returned from a trip to her homeland, Bangladesh, where she was born. And she tells me how so many children do not have food, clothing, shelter, education, all the things that we take for granted. And although our family is now smaller, we are still very thankful for having had Raja Babu in our lives, and the wonderful time we had together. She tells me, Preeti, everyone has to go one day. So, life has to be measured in the paw steps you take and the paw prints you leave behind. I listen to her, my ears cocked. I try very hard to understand what she says. For you see, my Mom is a very wise woman and knows a lot about life. Then after an hour, we walk back to our car and come home.

It is a very sad for the nation as a whole. No matter where you stood on the political spectrum, Kennedys and Ted Kennedy were icons in American political life. We were strong supporters of Sen. Kennedy. My Mom lived in Boston for over a decade. May peace and blessings be upon Senator Kennedy and his family.

Filling Big Paws!

Mom says that I am now a big girl. With Raja gone to the bridge, I have to take on a big role. Raja was SDBH, Small Dog Big Head. He really had a HUGE personality. Everyone knew him, everyone commented on his personality. They all said, "He is a funny dog." He would let you know immediately that he was there, and he counted. His small paws are big ones to fill. I will never fill his paws, but I hope that I come into my own. I have to protect my mom, the house and even Poka the meanie cat. Mom says I can do it. Raja Babu sent me an e-Raja saying he will watch over me.

Poka the Cat

So, the cat Poka has been drinking from our water bowl. She sits next to the bowl. I think she is guarding it, so I cannot access it. That is one meanie kitty! And Mom will not scold her. She says Poka was here first, and she is 9-years-old and I have to learn to fend for myself.
