Birthday: February 14th 1999 Likes: Walking, the park, the beach, sleeping, dinnertime, "Dog Whisperer" Pet-Peeves: Having her beauty sleep interrupted Favorite Toy: Squeaky hedgehog, stuffed snake, beanie babies Favorite Food: Natural balance dog food, chocolate Favorite Walk: Neighborhood walk, to the park, to the barn, to the beach! Best Tricks: Snuggling under the covers ;] Arrival Story: We adopted Dahlia about four years ago from a local rescue shelter. The shelter had found her and her dalmatian brother wandering around the other side of the state, for who knows how long; she was malnourished (weighing all of 32lbs) and worm-y. When my brother & mom went to look at some possible dogs at the rescue, she wasn't even on our radar; the lady just brought her out as a "what do you think of..." last-minute possibility. Right when we saw her, we knew we were hooked. When Dahlia rested her soft little head on our laps and stared up at us with those big brown eyes that told us she'd chosen us, we knew that was it. Bio: Dahlia is the most sensitive, sweet, and loving animal I think I've ever met. She doesn't take any harsh commands, and her feelings get hurt if you yell at her. She's very talkative: always moaning or snorting or telling you about her day. She's also very un-dalmatian-like, constantly sleeping and only getting energetic when we "ask" her to, or when on walks. She's learning that car rides and trips to the barn can be fun, and she loves having her toenails painted hot pink to match her owner's. :) Our daily walk is her favorite part of the day, and "The Dog Whisperer"'s her favorite show.
