Arrival Story:
After my last Wolfdog died I agonized over getting another, I had heard about a couple puppies up for rescue across country and since my wife's mother had just died we both decided the distraction of a road trip would do us good, so off we went from NH to Nebraska by car. We drove straight through and pulled into the yard early afternoon, we were greeted by the lady who ran the kennel, she had quite a few beautiful wolves and wolfdogs there but only two puppies, one was all black and seemed very happy to see us, when she opened the kennel he bounced out and rolled onto his back on top of my feet, his tail wagging so hard his whole body was moving, he was so cute, very soft and round, it was definitely love at first sight. The whole ride back he sat on the back seat of my wife's Saturn and watched us, when she talked he looked at her, when I replied he would turn his head to look at me, I could tell right then he would be a special animal even as wolfdogs go.

I got to play with a new friend named Ozzy today, dad let me off the leash so I could run around with him, don't tell anyone though because I'm not supposed to run loose. Ozzy was great fun, he was much smaller than me but still wanted to wrestle, he was alot quicker making tight turns but I was smarter and faster so still managed to get the better of him most times. Ozzy is just visiting his grandparents but I hope I get to play with him again tomorrow, there are so few doggy friends to play with around here an no parks nearby.
