Woof! I turn 6 today!!!

I can't believe it! I finally turned 6 today! I remember when my brother and sister turned 6, and it was an exciting time. Now it's my turn.

Yesterday, at 5 years 364 days old, I learned how to fetch! (I may be a slow learner, but my parents love me anyway.) Well, kind of. Mom threw the ball and I brought it back to her FOUR times in a row! That was a record for me, and I was proud of myself. I panted and smiled for over a minute after my fourth return. Maybe tomorrow I'll try for five in a row.

Woof!

Yippee! I'm three!

Today is my birthday! Woof woof!

My mom and dad think that I should start maturing a bit since I am now a three-year-old big dog! But, I really like to just PLAY PLAY PLAY so I will probably wait another year until I calm down and stop getting so excited about everything.

In fact, in honor of my birthday today I tore the luggage tag off Dad's luggage! It was so fun! I shredded it up into tiny pieces and then mom caught me playing with the remnants. That will teach Dad to leave his luggage in the living room!

Well.... gotta go! I'm off to run outside in the rain storm! FUN!

Today is My Birthday!

I was jealous last week when I saw my brother Rocky writing his first diary entry on Dogster. My mom told me that my birthday was coming up soon, and that I would get to write my own! Now my day is finally here, and I'm so excited to make my diary debut!

First I'll start out by saying I can't believe I'm already a whole year old! It seems like just yesterday I was sitting in that pet shop with my Bassett Hound friend. (I wonder how he's doing? I hope he got as good a home as I did!) When my mom and dad walked into the store I knew they were dog lovers and they HAD to be my parents. I put on all the charms! I was so cute that they played with me in a puppy room, and when I slapped Dad's face with my huge furry paws, he fell for me! He spent a half an hour talking Mom into getting another dog (they already had TWO... what extra trouble could one more be?).

Because my parents were so nice to adopt me, I have spent the last eight months being the best puppy I could be! I learned my potty training by watching my brother and sister. It was a cinch! And I make sure never to bite my parents (even playfully), especially when I had my sharper puppy teeth. I did have a few lapses, and I apologize... I chewed up a few dog beds. But FOAM!!! That stuff is irresistable! And I really think zippers are perfect for chewing. They are so neat when they bend and break.

Anyway, I have grown up a lot in the past year, and I've turned into a cuddly, happy-go-lucky "sweetie wheatie!" (That's what my mom calls me ALL the time... It's kinda embarrassing when I'm around other dogs, but secretly I like it!)

Well, I think it is time for me to chew my rawhide! Mom gave me a brand new bone for my birthday! She thinks it is good because it cleans off my teeth, but I don't care. Rawhide is SO MUCH FUN to chew on!

Bye!
