Arrival Story:
I got Pooky and Brooklyn when someone dumped them at a co-workers house. After contacting the local dog pound, radio station, and newspaper no one ever claimed the girls. They were in very poor health when we adopted them... very under weight, they had worms, fleas, and ticks. It was a struggle getting them potty trained and leash trained. But it was well worth the investment. I can't imagine what my life would be like without them in it.

Bio:
Our vet said that Pooky is part Poodle part Yorkie... That's how she got her name, she's a Pooky. (people usually call them Yorkie Poos). It should be spelled Pookie, but my husband wanted to spell it that way. He used to call her Pukey because she had an issue with car sickness when we first got her. She is better now because she goes everywhere with me. Like her sister Brooklyn, she also visits the nursing home near our house. She does enjoy visiting with the residents, but does not always like to share the spot light with Rosie one of the other volunteer dogs. She is a bit of a drama queen.

My New Job????

Yesterday mommy and I went to visit "the grandmas" at the nursing home. It was the first time she took me. I was a little bit nervous... all the nurses were saying things like "ahhhhhh.... " and "she's so cute". Then we got to Grandma Hermans room. I remembered her and started feeling a little bit better. We all visited for a while and then it was off to Grandma McRobies room. By this time I was so comfortable I jumped right in bed with Grandma. She was really excited to see me. We were watching Mamas Family on the television and Grandma was talking to me. I had a lot of fun. I hope my mommy takes me again, I think I can do a good job.

Great Grandma

Reading mommies devotion story made me remember a funny story. When my people sister Abby turned two mommy had a big birthday party for her. The whole entire family came... all my grandmas, and great grandmas, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandpas, friends, etc. As usual I was being my social butterfly self trying to keep everyone entertained. Great grandma loved me. She hogged me all night, she kept asking if she could take me home. Mommy said no because she would miss me too much. I didn't mind all the attention tho (she found this spot behind my ear and I was just in heaven). After the presents were opened and the cake was all gone people started to leave. One by one everyone left. Great Grandma was one of the last guests to leave. She was getting into her car when daddy realized he couldn't find me. He asked mommy if she had seen me. She said no and started to look for me too. They heard Great Grandmas car start up and had the same thought at the same time. It couldn't be... Great Grandma wouldn't take there baby... or would she?!? Daddy ran out of the house and caught Grandma just in time. She said no she didn't have me. Daddy asked to check her pockets, just joking of course : ) But if Grandma didn't have me then where was I? Mommy and Daddy looked all over the place. Finally mommy found me curled up in bed. I was pooped and decided to take a nap, but someone shut the door and I couldn't get out when I heard mommy and daddy calling me so I just went back to bed.

My Tail of Devotion for Pooky

I fell in love with you at first sight... who wouldn't? You are adorable, my little cuddle bear. You give unconditional love and total devotion and expect nothing in return (except maybe some kisses here and there). You set a good example for the other puppies... you always try your best. I can always count on you to entertain our guests, you are the best hostess in the world. (we just have to make sure no one tries to take you home with them at the end of the night : ) I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have the chance to be your mommy and I'd just like to thank who ever it was who didn't want you because they really gave up someone special.

This is a special Tail of Devotion
