So far she just wants to be loved, and to play with her pink piggy and grunt hog.

THE VET and people messing with her paws, but we are working on that.

Favorite Toy:
"GRUNTHOG" a groundhog that makes a grunting sound, and Pink Piggy toy

Favorite Food:
Science Diet Lamb and Rice with Science Diet Sensitive Skin mixed in. Peanut Butter. Nutro Chicken snacks.

Favorite Walk:
Walking the trails in our neighborhood

Best Tricks:
hacking off the vet and playing catch.

Arrival Story:
Saw her on, took her out of disgusting conditions. We have officially had her for one year.

Maia is a very tiny bullmastiff, who was used for breeding and then thrown away by her previous owner when she had to have a C section. She is covered with scars and has some broken teeth. She had a lack of some very basic social skills when we first brought her home. but in the year that we have had her she has changed dramatically. She now knows some basic commands, and is very stubborn, but also very willing to learn. I won't say submit, but definitly willing to compromise. She is a true joy. She has in a very short time become a very cherished member of our family. I don't know what we would do without her. She is our girl.

My cousins and uncles all have royal or "god" names such as odin. Mom and dad didn't like many of the goddess names except for a greek goddess named Maia.

Petition to the NFL against Vick

I have been listening to the news with my mom lately and I used to have an owner like Vick. Please Please go to the care2 petition site and sign a petition to have the NFL suspend Vick. They are not planning any kind of repercussions for his actions. Please let them know that this is unacceptable. It is because of people like him that there are legislations against specific breeds

Thank you, Maia

So many changes

WOW!!! I have been with my new family for a whole year. That is 365 days of belly rubbing and loving and steady food and my own toys and boys. Oh yeah...and the crazy baths. But that is okay I guess it is good mom and maia time. (at least that is what she keeps telling me.)

Mom says she couldn't be happier with how wonderful I am. Although lately she has taken to calling me garbage girl. So I like a little variety in my meals is there anything wrong with that ? Maybe if they gave me peanut butter more often I wouldn't have to take such extreme measures.

We also moved. I have a huge house now. I have three whole floors to contend with. That is a lot of searching for my boys. But as long as I have them in my life I don't care one bit. I also have new friends. I do have an arch nemesis though. I hate the dog next door. He is always trying to attack me. But my mom chases him off and they are moving soon. I CAN"T WAIT!!! I can only be lady like for so long before I give that dog a good butt kick'n.

Well, time to take a nap. Thanks for taking the time to read my latest blog. I will try to make it more regular. Maia.

I have hair.

Well, mom was almost right. She said a month before I had hair on my chest again. It was 5 weeks, but I won't rub her nose in it. Mom is so proud of me. When I first came here, I was so afraid. Would this be a good home, or was I going to end up in that awful place again? Mom, says I am in my forever home and is so glad that I have stopped snarling, and cowering, and that no longer as she puts it, "grin" at her when she works on my feet and nails. And I didn't try to kill the blow dryer this last time we went to work. My family is a good one. We wrestle at my very whim, I always have food and fresh water, I have an acre fenced in yard to play in, and trails to walk. I have all kinds of toys and treats. bought me a holloween costume. The shame and horror. I am such a beautiful girl till she puts that doggone piggy costume on me. They all yell Maia you are so cute, and all I can think is get this thing off me. IF they think I am wearing that when they all get dressed up, they are crazy. I have a holloween collar, put it on me and leave me alone. Til next time, Maia
