Earlier this year we lost our beloved Basset Hound Abby suddenly to kidney failure. We were devastated and Blue, our Weimaraner was grieving terribly. He'd never been the only dog and was so sad and lonely all day; we decided we should get another dog. Our first choice was a Great Dane, we love big dogs and Danes have always been a favorite.
So the search for a Dane puppy began. The opportunity to rescue a puppy almost came our way, but the family decided to try to keep her. No puppies were available anywhere we checked, everyone had just sold their last puppy or weren't going to breed again until next year. Then a friend told us how much she loved her Bichon. We started researching the breed and after meeting her Bichon, their disposition, intelligence and sweetness won us over.
We found our sweet little girl almost immediately and it was love at first site. She's even starting to win Blue's heart, although she's awfully energetic for an old dog to handle. :)
