Turkey Tag
November 17th 2007 6:09 am [link to this entry]
I have been turkey tagged by a few of my dogster pals, and since it is the beginnging of Thanksgiving week, it’s time to do something about it.
Thanks to Sophie for making the tag.
Because it’s Thanksgiving time, there is a change to the rules. Each player needs to tell seven special things they are thankful for. Tagged dogs must post the rules in their diary and their 7 things. Then choose 7 pups to tag and list their names. Let them know by pawmail or rosette that they have been tagged and to read your diary for the instructions on how to play.
1.I am thankful for my Mommy, who loves me.
2.I am thankful for my family, my fur siser & my human family
3.I am thankful for rides in the car- wind in the face freedom
4. I am thankful for food, treats of any kind
5.I am thankful for all my great friends & the fun I have on Dogster
6.I am thankful for beach time
7.Most important I am thankful for all the great love I get!
I am going to tag
1.Jackson

Well today mommy took me and my little sister, Kona, over to Grandma and Grandpa's. I got all wet from the pool and had a blast keeping the ball away from all the other pooches.
Grandma has two Boston Terriers- cute though they may be, their noses are raw from rubbing the ceilings so much! They mis-named them: Sadie should be called queenie and Gidget a princess. Both seem to forget they are just the right size for me to put the fear of GOD into them when they mess with me and mine! Patience....that's what mommy says.
But I got a hold of a really big palm tree husk and had a blast tearing it apart for about a half hour. And the really great part was when mom fed me some liver- ohhh, waited a week for that! Man oh Man! Yumm-O!
Anyway, made sure Tay (my charge- I sometimes feel like CARL- you know the Rotti that is a nanny) didn't drown. Don't know what mom is thinking letting her get into water in the first place- baths are bad enough!
Well, we are all safe and home now and I am plum tuckered out- Night- night.

Maui is an awesome spirit that continues to humble me day to day. She is loyal to the bone, smarter than most humans and has more compassion than anyone I have ever met. She has a quiet dignity and is so Majestic! She has been a complex category therapy dog for four years and continues to surprise me with her insight to those who need her most (whether we humans notice or not). During an airport drill she sniffed out a small child that was hiding behind a fake tree and once officers were notified refused to leave the little girl until her mother came (actually it was mutual - the little girl refused to let go of Maui's coat). She is a certified HOPE- Animal Assisted Crisis Response dog. She loves Firemen! Maui works most of the disasters and tragedies we are called on that happen near us in LA ,OC, and San Diego Counties and the fires that ravage California mountains. She has taught me so much and I am so thankful she came into my life. KUDOS Maui for all the work you do and the love you so freely give. You humble me. I am proud to be your team mate and handler. I sometimes worry you could have picked a better owner as you put me through my paces- but your spirit is definitely stronger than mine. YOU ARE MY ROCK. I love you more deeply than I can express and I am truly awed by your wisdom and compassion. You have taught me to always follow your instincts and I will never doubt you. You are my funny face that greets me everyday. Our souls are linked at a much higher level- that connection is just there and I will always strive to be the best handler and team mate I can for you. I LOVE YOU MY MAU-MAU.
